I am day 14 and doing well

A43
I am day 14 cold turkey from 4-6 hydrocodones per day for 2 years, reasons aren't really important as to why I took them in the first place, just important that I quit. I am doing well, and the WD anxiety, sweats and restlessness, have about disappeared!! You folks here helped me understand what I needed to expect and helped me through those crappy first 5 or 6 days. Thanks to all who posted to help me! My issue is related to the stopping of these things. I have been so completely fatigued. My outlook is good, my head is clear and I am happier than I have been in forever, my pain even all but disappeared, but so damn tired. Also, somewhat short of breath and a faster than normal pulse. So, either I have something else medical going on or this is related to coming off of the meds. Does anyone have any insights? Thanks in advance.

HI first of congrats on 14 days clean...im glad your feeling better the part about being tired is normal and as for things like pulse rate detoxing effects a lot of systems in out body
your blood preshure may be temporarily high for a wile also...there was one part of your post that I did find alarming and the red flages went up it was the part where you said
''reasons why I took them arnt really important....there is nothing more important then figuring out the very reasons why we choose to use in the first plase it is critical to recovery
without knowing this relapses is almost certain ...your at the point in recovery where aftercare becomes critical to figure these things out...as well as to tech you tools and give you the skills to lead a clean and sober lifestyle ...N/A and A/A are free programs and the 12 steps work if you work them if this isent for you check into a addiction conslor
but plug in somewhere to get the help your going to need to make this thing work long term you need to get to the root of why you used to concur addiction and living in recovery is a great way to live it beets'' white knuckling'' your sobriety with abstinence
good luck and God bless  Gnarly

If the shortness of breath and faster pulse dont stop go and see your doctor.

Congrats on 14 days!!  That is great.  Just gonna throw some caution to the wind here as the mental part will start now.  Have you thought about any type of recovery care??    sara

glad to hear you are at day 14!!! And that most of the wds are gone!!! That gives me hope that I will soon be thru too as I just started day 6 about hour ago. As for the other maybe give it a  couple of days and if it continues then see a doc to ensure nothing else is going on.
