Are you on good preventatives-that's a must. Antiepileptic and trycyclics are very very useful. No beta blockers.
Call your Dr and ask him if he can administer an infusion of DHE (migraine specific)\
Even though migraine meds are not addictive they can very easily cause rebound severe headaches if abused. These include Triptans such as imitrex, relpax, etc as well as OTC drugs and opiods. Stay away from quick fixes
You have got to get on preventative meds that work.
PM me tomorrow i can talk to you more about it if you feel i am giving you good advice
I went thur all kinds of meds, Imutrex, anti deressants all kinds of stuff. For me good old fashion cafergot works like a charm.

Hi and welcome. I am a migraine (with aura) sufferer as well. I've had them since I was 5 years old. I use Frova, which is a migraine medication in the 'triptan' class. You didn't state wether or not you have ever tried this class of drugs. They are non-narcotic, and are designed for migraines. Sometimes they work for me, sometimes not. For the real bad thumpers, I also take 800 mgs of Ibuprophen, and Phenegran for the nausea/vomiting. Vistaril and Compazine are also anti-nausea drugs commonly used. They also make you very sleepy, which is a blessing with a migraine. Sleep is the best way to get rid of them, in my experience. I lay down with a heating pad on my head, although sometimes ice works better. Keep it dark, and quiet where you lay down. Keep a bucket handy, cause that bathroom can seem like a mile away when your stomachs turning, and there'a a sledgehammer banging away in your head. So much easier just to hang over the bed, couch, whatever. All these meds, with the exception of the Ibuprophen are prescription meds. 800 mgs of the Ibu. is the prescription dose, however. If you don't have any of these, and the pain gets unbearable, go the the ER, and they should prescribe them with little trouble. All are non-narcotic meds, and I've used them all. They do help. May not take the pain entirely away, but it certainly makes it tolerable. Ask your doctor before using that much ibuprophen though. It is contraindicated for people with ulcers, aspirin allergy, on blood-thinners, and a few other medications. Good luck and hope you feel better :)
Here's a link about migraines and Cayenne pepper.

Good luck!
It's help with so much!
Have you tried accupressure? Squeeze your head at each temple like you are trying to pop your head!! Works for some things. Several other points on the body that basically correspond to accupuncture points. Oriental in origin.
I had good luck with pepper extract for neck aches. Walgreens store brand or capsaican - apply topically and it causes heat - the "ben gay" effect.......not sure how it works for headache - - worth investigating......
Extra hot cayenne pepper pills help with migraines. I've taken them for headaches before. You can get them at Walmart and they are not expensive. I'll find out exactly how much you should take and will PM you!
Have you spoken to your doctor about migrine meds most are not addicting
