I need info about Methadone clinic's

I've had a painkiller addiction for going on seven years. I've tried almost everything and now I'm considering a Methadone clinic. So my question is this.... Do I have to have a drug in my system when I get there for an intake. I just took a test and  was clean.. But I'm in active withdrawal. How does that work.. Will I get denied cuz it's not there? Should I take something prior to going?

Dude don't do it...  You think it's bad now?   Go to an NA meeting.  They're crackheads, fiends, etc. just like us... Get some numbers.   You don't have to quit forever - just today.  Took years for me to really understand that.  Just today.

I had a pill addiction for almost 20 yrs...im almost 10 months clean...you can do this if you want it bad enough...methadone is harder to quit than you might realize...the withdrawls are 10 x worse...I just went cold turkey...its a daily struggle but I feel better now than any using day in the last 20 yrs...DO NOT GO TO METHEDONE...if your looking to just get high  I don't know what to tell you but your in the wrong forum....

I don't know how bad your pill addiction has gotten or how many times you've tried to get clean and relapsed etc but I'd have to agree with 10356, getting off of the methadone is really tough.  The wd's from methadone last much much longer than they do from vidodin or oxy's.  Be very careful what you get yourself into.

Hi Tommy Welcome to the forum.. How long have you been in wd? what were you taking and how many? Are you looking for what to get high? this is what the clinic will do for you You will have to go everyday stand in line wait for someone to dose you give your urine Everyday Get hooked worse then you are now. To get off the pills it takes a week of hard wd then a gradual lifting of symptoms by 2 weeks you feel better by 6 weeks you are on top. With methadone it take 3 months to get off it and it is agony for the lack of sleep and anxiety not to mention you can not move unless forced. You would be jumping from the pan to the fire. I would suggest finishing your wd and joining Na our AA Be free of this crap They are just going to make money off you and claim your Soul.. I do wish the very best for you! lesa
