not addiction but physical tolerance

I have been on fentanyl for 12 years and I am confused. Everyone talks about a high associated with the patch. I have never had anything that might have been a high. So will going off of fentanyl be easier since there is no addiction. Has anyone ever went off without an addiction.  I need as many ideas that i can get. Time is almost here. I wrote to the company to see if they could help me with the 6000.00 per month bill  for my mylan patches.  The economy screws those who wish to just survive. even my insurance at 1011. dolars plus 124 for medicare.  But as I said I need your help.  What strong medicine would you suggest to use to help with the withdrawals.  Thanks

I disagree a little that if you don't have the mental addiction, it easier to kick, I believe. If your mind doesn't crave it strongly, and it more a physical dependence, It shouldn't be as hard because you don't have the mental torture which can make WD's worse in many cases. Because you are not a real drug addict, you don't have to deal with that horrible craving because you never got the same kick or high as a regular addict like me and others got. all the best

Sorry to hear of your economic probelms!  Have you contacted the manafactor to see if they can help with the cost of your patches?

If not and you are really going to go off the patch, I would say wean off slowly get your doctor to prescribe lower doses to start the process.

I'm also physically addicted to fentenyl and for my story I have a lot of probelms with it, and I'm in the process of going off it.  I have probelms on it every other day as I go through some w/d symptoms and decreasing the dose has really set those off more so.  The doctor gave me Zanaflex to help with some of the w'd but it is really short acting.  I know that the benzo's usally help (clonopin and so on).  There is also a Thomas recipie that has help a lot of folks on here.

Anyways I wish you the best of luck!
