You are right about that VICourageous!!  Georgia... I’m not sure if you are aware at how bad this is. Again, it’s not to discourage you in anyway. It’s actually to help you understand that this is going to be a fight and you better want it more than anything or you are going to get knocked out.  I played a ton of sports and I was an all American when I played college football.  That being said, this is the hardest thing I have ever had to overcome.  So if you are not really ready to quit, you will not have any shot.  I’m extremely ready to quit and I want it more than anything and I have still failed.  I made it to day 4 two times in 3 weeks.   Again, I just want you to understand what you are dealing with here.  BUT… you can beat it and there are a ton of people that have done it on this site.  There is a ton of knowledge, encouragement and support on here.   If you really want this, you need to follow what they say and be prepared for the fight of your life…. literally!

This is definitely one of the toughest things i have endured. i think the methadone and suboxones lingering long lasting effects added in with the oxys has made this a **** storm of 4 days but i keep telljng myself its worth it and remembering life when i use to wake up( sober days) go to work and get off and hit the gym and still have energy.  i think remembering those days has been the number one help in this

Update to whoever wants to hear it, i am on day #4, completely sober (aside from immodium/ibuprofen).
story:
on off oxy for 2 years,  jan 1st, 2014 started methadone clinic, april i swapped from methadone to suboxone and  i began a 1 month taper to nothing. well it failed and i ended up on oxy again beginning of may and now i am on day 4 off oxys.  the withdrawals have been HELL, but i am a tough cookie and have only missed 4 hours of work since tuesday.

How many mgs are you on still?
Hun yes there is going to be withdrawal symptoms there is no way around them. There are things to help minimize them.
She didnt have any idea you were using before you told her?
Have you ever been to an na or aa meeting?

The key to successfully quitting is going to be to cut your sources. Every dealer and friend that supplies you has to go. It's also very important to stop hanging out with other people that are still using. I know that probably sounds really scary, and it's a lot easier to just keep doing what you are doing, but those are all things every single one of us had to do. I hope that something changes very soon for you. Good luck!

That is great that you told your fiance! Big step in the right direction doing that. How are things going between the 2 of you now that it's all out in the open? How are you coming along with quitting? How are you feeling?

I'm proud of you because you haven't done anything today AND because you said "NO" to the guy on the phone. That's great!

What are you going to do when you get off work? You need a plan...

Hi there! Yeah, today is Day 1! Time to get to counting those clean days so we can have a party around here:). You can do this. Stop now before it gets worse and you lose everything and hit rock bottom. It's not a matter of "if" but, rather, "when." Getting clean was the best decision I've ever made and life is so much better now than it was then. I'm happier, more energetic, and really living life again. It's not easy, but it's so worth it! Keep us posted and let us know how you're feeling!

There is NO easy way out here!! There is no way to avoid wd's!  You have to change your thinking and redirect your brain, currently the pills are controlling you and you need to take charge.  I am glad  that you turned down the roxy's but it sounds to me like you are happy that it was offered at a cheap price, this is your life your talking about not a good ol time here.  Get serious about getting your life back and take action.  You can do it if you want it bad enough, in the end its up to you.

And you DO have an addict brain controlling you and we can see that...

One clue is your idea about tapering and not going through wd's...it won't work the way you're doing it but I suppose it's better than nothing. It's just that you ARE experiencing wd's...So, it's really not a plan to get clean but a plan to still keep taking pills.

Do you swallow these pills or take them another way?

I doubt it's going to go very well...I'm so sorry for you because you have nothing going in your favor here and the disease is just too powerful...

You can't do this by trying hard, white knuckling it, and watchful waiting to see what happens. That's letting the pills control you. You need to understand that YOU have to take some control back, YOU have to make a plan, YOU have to stop thinking about and romancing those pills!!

You know what you have to do because everyone has told you...Do you need to hear it again? Write it down as a reminder?  Tell us and we'll help...

Georgia. I know where you are coming from and I know how you feel.  I have a ton of people that get them and want them right now... I could make a lot of $$$ too. First off, it’s a controlled substance, so be careful.  More importantly, you know how hard it would be for me to handle them, see them, and talk to other people that are on them.  That is way too much temptation for either one of us, not worth it at all.  And, now that you know what this addiction is and can do to people, don’t be the one that contributes to other people’s addiction.  Yea, they will find them anyways but they do not have to come from you.  Honestly, I have no room to talk…  I have been doing them and selling a ton of them for 2 years.  But I still know right from wrong and if I can talk you out of it, maybe I can repay it somehow.  Message me if you want to talk.

I agree with brokenspirtandsoul..This is a very serious disease and takes work to come clean and stay clean.
I can not even tell you how much Damage these Drugs can do to the Brain, Body & Soul..Get out while you can..You are young..Do not wait until you have put over 40 years of abuse in only to find out the damage is done and you will never feel 100% well anymore.
Using is only a Temporary Fix with Long Term Repair..(as my Bud says on here)..This is the Gods honest Truth..Please think about what Damage can be done in the Long Run..I sure wish you the best..Study all you can about all of this..Get Scared Straight.
Bless

no i never told her, we had family over for dinner last night so it wasnt a good time, i might be okay without telling her. ive been taking close to 90 mg a day for a very long time and to drop down to just a 30 today is a big step for me and im not use to this little and ive been feeling really hot and irritated all day from it. but im okay with it because i know im sticking to my plan. i know i can do it now i just feel like if i can taper that will be better than going through withdrawals. where i live people buy 30 mg roxys for $30 dollars all day long and the guy that just called me was going to sell me 30mg roxys for almost 5 dollars a piece and i said no for the first time ever, i feel proud of myself and i dont feel like i have an addict brain that is controlling me

The craving will always be there but will be especially high when you are still taking and when still be offered them!  You are going to have to cut these sources out of your life!  Dealers dont want you to quit as you are paying their bills!  Read your post from the beginning. I am not trying to be mean and please dont take it that way. Your first post was you didnt want to do any the next day. Then it was you would just taper. (Tepering is slow and steady, allowing your body to adjust to new dosage.) You said 60 on Wednesday, than 30 on Thursday and would stop on Friday. Now you say maybe 15 on Friday. Do you see what I am saying?  Your addict brain is still talking!  I only point this out because I want to see you succeed!  Did you tell your fiance last night?
