IN PAIN!!!

Due to custody reasons etc i cannot give myself away to much. Anyways today a big guitar amp fell onto the top of my foot crushing my instep. It is bruised, hugely swollen and i can even feel some small bone poken through. I am again on  the 32mg suboxone and **** load of valium. I cant even get a shoe on! its bringing me to tears. Im afraid if i go to the hospital or doctor they will just think im after pain meds, although my foot might just prove it. Does anyone know of any non-opiate meds that can help - did i mention im a dancer and cannot miss classes?- if its not one thing its another! ANYHELP?

Thats cool, i know noone assumed it being intentional as for wanting more pain meds or whatever, it would be hard to get high off them anyways being on sub 32mg a day as they block out the effect. However there are some other meds that can be used, but im unsure of them and dont find out until i see the doc. I could of used strong anti-amphlamatries but im elergic to ibuphen etc - bummer as they would do a good job.
Im doing all sorts of dance from jazz, contempory, ballet, tap, modern and even good ol hip-hop. Look out for me in the next SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE next year....
Anyone for an early autograph LOL!
Hoping once my kidney problems and the rest are sorted hoping to go to a good rehab and get off everything and be NORMAL just for a change. YOURS TRUELY . . . kezza.

Thanx to everyone whom made a comment, im learning alot on this site. I have finally had some x-rays on my foot, it is just badly bruised and a very small fracture, still waiting to see my proper doc for diagnose. No it wasnt intentenal... as i am on the highest dose of sub, and not wanting to go back to the horrible begininng of ops where my addiction began. What happened was my daughter was standing on poppy's big amp round a corner and we were playing hide and seek, shes only four and i knew she was there and i said BOO and scared her just for a seccond but she fell backwards as the amp fell forwards, at the time i was more worried she was hurt, but she was fine and worried about me more lol. Im back at dance - stapping and icing helps THE SHOW MUST GO ON! Thanx heaps for all your info and support. Yours truely... Kezza

Hello,
I am someone who let a foot injury go, it wasnt a break, it was a bone spur that over time tore through my tendons. That foot is much weaker than the other one, and has had to be operated on twice since 2004. I promise you that if you dont get it checked out properly that you will regret it. I have and still do, even after a total reconstruction of my ankle, the surgeon says it will be about 75% of what it "was". Thats also how I got hooked on pain pills. I always knock myself for not taking care of it the RIGHT way. PLEASE, go to the ER and tell them your history. Your foot needs tlc right now, especially if you are a dancer! Take care and hang tough. We are rooting for you!
Peace~

if you do go to the ER, you will have to tell them you are on sub so they dont try to give you a shot of something you cant have, so make sure you are honest with your doctor about this ok...but you HAVE to tend to it, a broken bone in a foot for a dancer is  not a good thing...so please get it taken care of properly so your danciong career can continue, of course it will be on hold for a few weeks, but you have to do the right thing here.  go to the ER, be honest about the sub and get this tended to properly...i am sure you KNOW how important your feet are, dancer or not...
take care and keep us posted..

and getting any type of narcotics would be quite useless for anyone taking sub...it blocks the effects of opiates...i am sure YOU are aware of this, most people on sub KNOW this if they have researched it thoroughly enough....when your ready, you should try to taper your sub down to a more reasonable dose...its a cakewalk. i was on 32 mgs for 6 weeks...and got down to 12 mgs in around 2 weeks time frame, but i wouldnt do it now, it may actually be helping with your pain, but of course always consult with your doctor before you do any dose adjustments.

I went to pain management and told them I wanted nothing narcotic. I can't take Ultram and am allergic to NSAIDs, so I am pretty much out of luck I am thinking. He gave me a muscle relaxer that has shown to have anthestic properties. I wanna say Zanaflex. It does work. Not as good as some of our old friends, but it does. GET THE FOOT FIXED OR YOU WILL NOT DANCE FOR LONG!

That is the max sub dose I think....ice works well and a trip for an xray is a definite...if it is broken you will need some follow up so that it will heal....tell the doc what u r taking and go from there

i agree with flmagi, you need to go to ER. i broke my ankle and due to being on PA and not having Dr, i sat for 8 days with no cast. it never healed right. i used to do kickboxing and 1 and 1/2 yrs later still can't. they started me on ibuprofen 800, they are very willing to give out non-narcotics, believe me. i am an addict, so i did use my pain to call up and get vic's. but you do not have to go that route, especially if you insist they are too strong for you, they will give you something else. please get yourself medical attention, you sound like you have a bright future dancing, don't give that up.

Man thats alot of Sub, go to Er tell them you don't need anthing for pain, get the foot fixed. Then start tapering the Sub. Of course if your plan was to hurt your foot so you could get more pain meds, thats a different problem. Be Honest with yourself. Good Luck!

Sounds like you've broken your foot and need to go to the ER. Let me tell you, if you don't get it fixed now, your danceing days may be short lived. I walk around with fractures in my feet all the time and walking is a major chore, danceing is out of the question. Tell the ER that you need a non-narcotic pain killer. The main thing is to get the foot taken care of. Once they put it in a cast  or special shoe the pain will be minimal. But you will have to rest it for about 6 weeks. There's no way out of that, unless you want permanent damage like mine. If you don't have it fixed you'll end up with tendons snapping, knee problems etc. Go get it fixed now.  Good luck.
