Ibogaine for detox?

Hello all. Are any of you familiar with the herb ibogaine? Numerous studies have been cited identifying this herb as a detox tool for minimizing physical withdrawal symptoms and something that keeps the addict mind at bay for months after its use. It sounds too good to be true, but it is:

http://www.*****************.net/

It is often termed an "addiction interrupter" and there seems to be no other substance that can do its job. High doses can be psychedelic, but low doses are said to virtually eliminate both physical withdrawal during detox and the psychological cravings that come afterwards.

I live in Canada where ibogaine is an herb that can be found at many health food stores. Is there anyone else out there from Canada who has had real world experience using this to detox? I ordered some today for my detox plan coming up in July.

Thank you,

JN

Well, I took the time to read through the whole website you cited above. It was quite impressive, frankly. But it is very clear that using Ibogaine at home is risky and even dangerous. It elaborates on why, so I suggest you read through the site very carefully.

If you were to go there as an inpatient the risks are much less, and you would be continually monitored by medical personnel. Of course that would be very expensive, in the neighborhood of $5000.

I already live with the consequences and I am painfully self aware. I don't expect a panacea. I do expect a little less sickness. Anyone interested can read my blog. I should be starting in a few weeks when I receive the product (Canada has had a postal strike for a few weeks).

Re: Kratom I looked into it but it indeed seemed too complicated and yucky as well.

Kinda reminds me of Kratom.  Well, minus the "trippy" part.  Haven't tried the Ibogaine stuff but have gotten some kratom for on of my "come offs" and not sure if it worked.  It was disgusting and hard to work with so by the time I was over messing with the stuff, my w/d's were gone. lol

I read someone posted on here about that if there was something that made it super easy to come off of opiates, that we'd all be doing the merry-go-round all the time with no problems.  There has to be consequence for our actions/demons and that is W/D!!  Sad but true.

Seriously...more lectures? You have NO idea who I am and where I am at in life. I do not intend to spend any more time wasting energy on this board.

There is no "one way". Everyone is different. If there is something out there that can help through the initial physical stages of physical withdrawal, then I am interested.  In no way am I promoting anything. I asked a simple question: Has anyone had any real-life experiences with this?

And just to finish MASSIVE doses cause trips. This is not my intent, not that it is anyone's business. This stuff is legal in Canada and my body is my body. So please all of you, leave it alone.

HI Jena.....first off I apaligise for any misunderstanding .....I was not my intent to attack your character in any way....with that said it is of the utmost consirn that you or any other members use this stuff and them selfs to experiment on .....it is not safe to self administer this herb .....first off you dont know the strength of the herb you will be getting or how much active ingredient is in it ....people have dyed from using this drug  all of the stories I have read on it talk about a L S D type trip as you go threw the process .....if you never been on one of those this might prove to be pritty scary for you.....my only consirn is when something like this gets brought up ...'''a way to avoid withdrawals and addiction'' addicts flock to it and someone mabe not you but someone will ether get messed up or even dye trying it....addiction is nothing new to me nor is detoxing someone but you have to understand the pills are not the problem there simply a symptom of your condition no drug in the world is going to change that  as addicts we need to change the very way we think and reason to overcome or addiction we need to face off with the demons where running from rather then numbing our selfs out to those feelings so far the only thing I know that truly works is consoling therapy or working a 12 step program there n/a or a/a it seams those willing to put the work in get better those that dont stay sick.....nothing changes if nothing changes....I truly hope you dont try this on your own the Mexican clinics are scary enough but at least they have the equipment there to revive you if they administer to much...if you alone and screw this up it is doubtful most hospitals will even know what to do....im not trying to scare you here I have a genuine consirn for others and just see this blowing up in your face with no recourse...im aware they are doing studies as we speak on lab rats it was in popular science around 3 mo ago thats when I did my research on it.....there is no one here that would love to say I have found a cure for addiction more then me but once you truly understand the disease you will realize its probably never going to come in a pill.....I wish you all the best you might want to try recovery our way....it works ....if you want it bad enough it is attainable we can walk you threw a detox and point you to aftercare from there it is up to you....you get out of it what you put into it but living in recovery is a beautiful place...good luck and God bless.....Gnarly

I get that u r taking something as a personal attacK BUT I promise u its not intended that way at all. This is an amazing forum&gnarly is ALWAYS helpful just blunt which we need as addicts. The point was that stuff can be dangerous so be careful. If like somone said it does what a prescibed med does why not see a doctor get that so u know ur safe?I know I can't reccomend anything but I can say I took clonidine prescribed&it helped me a lot.U came here for a reason so don't get pissed and bail.

And here is some further information for the real human beings who might be interested. It seems to help the physical symptoms similar to what the prescription med. clonidine does If you read what I am discussing, I am in no way talking about hair-brained $5000 detox clinics in Mexico.

ibogaine is controversial at best there are clinics down in mexico that for 6 grand promise you the wold drug free .....you take the stuff go into an L S D type trip and come out cured
hummmmm sounds like B/S to me I did some research on this and the plases that do it thewy offer a guarantee ...if it dont work they will do it over no money back just a redo...if done wrong it can kill you .....I dont think its a cure for the simple reason the addictive brain is still the addictive brain prone to impulse's and lack of reasoning it is the very way we think that needs to change to to live in recovery and no pill drug or herb can do that for you it take personal work....I guess I will believe it when I see it but its going to take more then a u/tube video to convince me......DO NOT TRY AND SELF ADMINISTER THIS STUFF TO YOURSELF IT COULD PROVE FATAL......Gnarly
