Is there life after meth addiction yes

This is not a question but more a statement of fact. There is life after methadone addiction. I did it I am a month out of detox and in a community rehab. I was using meth for nearly 4 years and also a high opiate use. My Doctor about 4 thought it a good idea to put me on meth as a pain killer and guess what it worked it got my to 3 out of 10. BUT BIG BUT after leaving that doctor and moving to London UK the pain killer stop working and left me with the addiction. I have never taken an illegal drug in my life but that does not make an less of addict.

Now a month on my pain is sometimes unmanageable. I now some much of non based opiate meds my system hates it but hey last my life. My head is totally screwed. I have counselling coming up next week so many years of hurt to talk about and the best bit is the doctors tell me that I will be in pain for the rest of my life. A bitter pill to swallow by any one standard. On top of this Meth has suppressed my emotions for so long and now I have them back and I don't know what to do with them. I have been with my partner for nearly 22 years and I forgotten how to love and sex not for over 7 years.

The meth has mess with me big time but I am now clean for 1 month the first month of the rest of my life and hope life will be good to me. I can but hope. Thank you for reading this. My name is Sean. I would love communicate with anyone please if you wish email me  sean27.***@**** I would love to here form anyone.

Hi Sean & Welcome..People can talk private by the "send message" in your profile or when you hit are name..We can not give numbers or e-mail on this site..
I am walking in 9 months from a 12 year Methedone ride that started with the other opiates..Went c/t from 3 meds and it was not a easy ride at my age either..I wish you the best..But just beware you will most likely experience some emotional issues that will come and go like a yo-yo! This is all part of the process when we remove any Stims from our body or brain..Alot is affected in these areas..Aftercare is very good..keep up the good work and let us know how you are coming around..I will say that Time is the Greatest Healer.
Bless

Hi Sean, great to see your post. You're going to be alright, trust the program and the people. There's an incredible support structure, if you use it. Make some friends in the program that you can talk to about what you're going through daily. It will help. I'll send you a private message so you see how it works. My partner and myself both quit everything in '99 and we're still going strong. All you need is your free will back. The drugs have stolen that for so long now, but you have reclaimed your life, so Congratulations~ Keep us up to date about how your doing friend. NH
