xanax withdrawal after only 2 days of use?

Hi everyone.

So I stopped drinking alcohol, after drinking every day for probably a couple months, though, never during the day, only at night, and almost never to the point of being sick. Mostly beer. Like 2 or 3 pints.

Anyway, like I said I stopped drinking a few days ago. I went two days without drinking and due to my severe OCD and anxiety issues, I took a .5 mg xanax two nights ago, and again last night I took a .5 mg dose of xanax.

Yesterday during the day I felt almost like I was sleeping while I was awake, like totally foggy and spacing out, like time was moving along really fast but I was slow to the point like the brain was almost frozen. I was extremely slowed down. By night time I came out of the my fog a bit but still felt sort of relaxed but also feeling like my memory was gone.

So I took another .5 mg last night and this morning again I felt foggy, but not nearly as foggy as the day before.

Right now I just feel kind of weird, like I still have some xanax in my system but its wearing off... I'm just shocked by how strong this medicine is that the next day after taking only half a pill that I would feel this slowed down still and I'm like confused whether it is possible that after only 2 nights, each with .5 mg, I could be feeling some kind of short term withdrawal?

I should say also that about 2 years ago I took xanax with some regularity but stopped pretty easily.

Bottom line... can xanax cause withdrawal after only 2 days of .5 mg? Maybe I'm just really ocd.... opinions would be appreciated. thanks.

i took one xanax pill for 3 days in a row then 5 days later did the same for 2 days and took 2.5 pills the thirld day, after the drowsiness wore off i experienced extremely hightened anxiety and had a mental breakdown that night, my firned who had the same dose as me experienced the same symptoms so you may be feeling a mild withdrawl

Just wanted to add also that I don't intend on taking any more, though, as the day wears on, its almost like I start feeling like I want to start the cycle again and take another tonight. xanax is wack!

thanks for the response... yea I think it's kind of what your saying, that I just don't like how the xanax makes me feel the next day, not a withdrawal... thats seems to make sense to me. Again, thanks for the response. Sometimes I just need another individual to remind me of whats reasonable and to stop my OCD in its tracks...

Hi, xanax is a benzo and is Labelled As a Controlled Substance. however, I have NEVER heard of ANYONE experiencing withdrawels after 2 pilss in 2 days. If you do Not like the way they make you feel. . . . . Flush them down the toilet!!!! I mean if you do not like the way they make you feel why use them at all???
Sounds to me like booze was MORE of a problem for you???? I can only suggest you think about that. the Rooms of AA are availiable to anyone/they are free/and you do not even have to talk if you don't want to.
It is a VERY SAFE PLACE!!!!
Good luck, Keep posting. . . . . It helps!!!
Peace!!!
