Its That Time! December 2014 Roll Call!!

I hope everybody had a clean and blessed Thanksgiving! A lot of people relapse around the holidays especially because of feeling alone. That is why it is very important to have a solid recovery foundation with a support network...someone you can reach out to in time of need.

So here we are in the last month of 2014. If your reading this you are alive and that in itself is a blessing. So this thread is for everyone to post there clean time or just introduce themselves. You do not have to be clean to post here. We would love to just meet you. If you are clean, please tell us about it. Share how long and anything else that we may draw hope and encouragement from.

So with that...this is the final 2014 roll call. I hope we have a lot of people check in and share! Happy holidays everyone and God bless.

Hi Jess and welcome!  I am fairly new here too and am on day 4 of detox!  Mine has been pretty good so far and this is a great place to get support and encouragement!  I understand about trying to quit so many times!  I was the same way for the last 2 years!  Im not sure what happened but I finally got tired of and disgusted enough with myself that I did it!  You can do it!!!  Keep posting here, it really does help!!!!

Hi I'm Jess. Hello everyone! I just joined this website an hour ago. I have read many conversations the past couple of years but never joined in. There seems to be a lot of support here and I really need some. Have tried to quit my pain pill addiction many times and I have relapsed every time. I would really like to be able to say that I made it more than just a couple of weeks...a year would seem like a miracle!

Hugs everyone!!
I celebrated 3 years of recovery on the 4th of this month.
I am tapering off my pain meds since my surgery in October.
It's really f-ing hard because my surgery was not conclusive and the pain is still horrific BUT
Living on drugs isn't Living and I want to LIVE!!!
I am 8 months cigs free
1 month caffeine and sugar free.
So happy and grateful for all of you.
Peace,
Lu

139 Days!  I'm still grieving heavily and am very lethargic.  I don't want to do anything, go anywhere, see anyone but I'm sticking with my program.  Joe would have wanted me to do that.  Miss all of you but my well is still so empty.  I'm working on trying to rejoin the land of the living.  Went to get a pedicure (out of self defense though).  Have plans to do lunch next week with a friend.  Hiding out for Christmas though.  If I can just get through Christmas I think I may survive.  I never knew how much this was going to hurt but I think that God and Joe are looking over me and I hope they are both smiling!

Well it has been a while since I have visited...and I don't know the exact days but do know it was the 1st week in June when I got off the merry-go-round.  So I guess that's 6mos or so.
Congrats to everyone on their clean time and to those about to begin the journey.

211 days from opiates and all the other stuff! Never thought I'd be this close to a year sober. Time has flown and these holidays have been the best I've ever experienced since childhood.

I hope everyone has happy holidays!

Thank you so much, I think it will be great for us, too!  I am starting to gather my arsenal of vitamins, etc., and want to make a plan to start exercising now so I can continue through detox as much as possible. Definitely open to any suggestions and love everyone on here for the support and encouragement.
