Jump or continue Suboxone tapering plan?

I have been tapering from Suboxone, which I got on about 8 weeks ago (when I got off Opana ER).
I started getting pretty bad panic attacks at home, which were similar to ones I experienced when
tapering from Opana ER.  Fortunantly, I was able to go inpatient and have gone from 16 mg to 2 mg (each day) of Suboxone.  This took 7 days, which I know is pretty fast.  I am doing pretty well most of the time (thanks to the comfort meds).

Do you think this doctor's plan seems too fast for the remainder of this taper?  Today and tomorrow, I am to take 2 mgs (1 mg around 6 am; the second mg. around 3 pm).  Then, I jump off of all suboxone, and am discharged from the hospital to a therapy  program for a week.  This will help me get better prepared for returning home (Also during that time I will be tapering off the Ativan pills that are helping with detox.  Would you be ready to jump off Suboxone at 2 mg for 2 days?  What should I expect being that I was on Subs for about 2 months, but was on  a strong Opiate just before getting on them.

Thanks so much,
Marie

Hey Marie, follow their plan, if it doesn't work, I'm sure they'll adjust it for you. Don't get ahead of yourself, I agree with IBKleen, reading horror stories on the Internet is not going to help you. You're dealing with professionals there, stick to the plan. Good luck to you!

Hi,

Good to see you are tapering and also good to see you are ready to come off of the Suboxone. To be honest, you are inpatient and following your doctor's plan. I think you should stick with it. If you start second guessing yourself or listening to people's stories on the internet you may not continue with the plan and I think that would be a shame. Suboxone is subjective and if you are comfortable with the plan, then continue it.

Congratulations on all your progress. Keep up the good work!!
