For your leg cramps, please try putting a bar of soap in your bed!  I know it sounds nuts, but I used to get severe leg and foot cramps frequently, both day and night.  I tried this method, figuring it was basically free, and couldn't do any harm, and I'm now a true believer.  Cramps are gone -- unless I wear socks to bed, or the soap falls out or if I kick the covers off.  Try it, it's a lot cheaper than seeing another doctor or buying meds.  Any type of bar soap apparently works.  The bigger the bar the better.  Take off any packaging so the soap is open and keep it near your legs during the night.  Good luck.

I was so desperate I tried this, but it didn't work for me
  Glad you got relief.
When I had RLS I used diabetic leggings, like super long tight socks. They helped a bit, in case your still looking?
I actually was prescribed medication, a drug called Requip.  I know some want to stay away from meds but it did work well. I think the diabetic leg stocking is a great idea too.

The leg part sucks! I used over the counter drug called quinine leg cramps with club soda or water. I was so desperate I asked the pharmacists, I told him the truth and he says he swears it works good. It did, might as well try it. Any drug store has at least two-three brands at about $3-7. Hang in there! I have been in your shoes.

Your in my prayers!!!

you can, but if you go through a legitamate doctor who will control your dosages and prescriptions, you should be able to quit your addiction and taper off with the doctors help

klonopin/diazepam etc. are very addictive AND can be life threatening/fatal if CT'd. Don't go that route with an already addicted person. The Sub. doesn't get you a 'high' but you will become physically dependent on it. You can use it to taper down to no pills fairly comfortably. Google Suboxone and read up on it.
You could find your husband a Sub. doctor in the area. He could go on that and then taper off of it without all the WD's he is experiencing now. Give it some thought. Talk to his mom.
good luck,

some people get leg cramps the worse, im one of thsoe people, mine hurt the worst in my shin area, it feels like i ran a thousand marathons , but at the same time im in to much pain to move around, i just wriggle around. if you can get precscription Lyrica( Pregabalin), it helps the leg cramps, but that takes going to a doc, suboxone and klnopin/diazepam  worked wonders for me

no he is still at his moms house, I honestly dont know how I would be able to take care of him in this situation and the baby 2! But I talked to his mom today she made him eat one bannana today, thanks to all of u I learned that bannanas help. She is gonna make him eat 2 more today. But he told her today he just wants to cut off his legs. Its sad though because he has access to an indoor and outdoor jacuzzi, but his mom says he wont get out of bed. I learned from all of u that would help. Anyways I learn a lot from this forum this past couple of days, so I share the information with him and his mom. Thank u guys!

His is probably restless legs and cramps. Yep, the cramps are just like when you were pregnant. Get him to eat bananas (and NOT drink soda). If it's possible, get him up and moving. Exercise is the best thing to help with the RLS. Hot baths will help also. It really is uncomfortable for him right now. If he doesn't mind being touched, give him a foot/leg massage (lotion helps keep the friction down). That really helped me out during my WD's---my brain focused on how the foot/leg massage felt and it seemed to short circuit the misfiring nerves in my legs that made it so uncomfortable.
Give it a try.
He really needs you right now. Thank you for being so supportive.
Good luck and let us know how you both are doing.

I think I know how those leg cramps feel like, I used to get them when I was pregnant and my doctor would say its b/c of low pottasium and she would tell me to eat bannanas, but my husband is on day 2 todays and he says he wants to cut off his legs

The zinc in a supplement also helps both RLS and cramping - so do warm baths. Bannanas for sure

The leg cramps vary from person to person. After a week you should start to get some relief. Yes bananas do help. Also, avoid carbonated beverages. The carbonic acid in the soda pulls potassium out of your system and makes the cramps worse. Juices and water are best.
exercise, stretch, bananas and lots of fluids (no soda)

Good luck
