Methadone with Kolonopin

Question

I have on both benzos and opiots for 12 years, I was taking xanex but recently switched to kolonopin. I am tired of this rat race and will be switching back to methadone. My question is, Is taking Methadone with Kolonopin less dangerious then taking xanex with methadone? Thanks, Val

You're stuck on the merry go round of replacing one med/substance with another, you need to get off that ride!  Kratom, poppy...none of that is the answer.  I would recommend either trying to taper down further with the hydro, or just bite the bullet and go cold turkey.  Medicating away w/ds with another habit forming substance just isn't the answer!

I am speaking from experience. I went from Methadone to Subutex not Suboxone and thought it would be fine because Subutex does not have the Naloxone in it. At the time I wanted to switch from Subutex to Methadone, I was on day 3 of Methadone 27mgs (which did not cover the 2mgs of Subutex I was on, still had chills, and sweats) I took my xanex and I think I might have had an overdose, I was so scared I took a small peice of a 2mg Subutex pill, it immediately put me in precipitaded withdrawl. The worst 5 days of my life! There cannot be any methadone in your system, you would have to transfer to a SAO for some time. For me personally Sub was the worst mistake of my life. And please don't let them put you on a rediculous dose 2mgs is enough for a 2 1/2 bag habit. It is also VERY hard to get off of. I think Sub is the most EVIL drug ever invented!

NEVER STOP BENZOS before you do an ibogaine treatment! It most likly will cause a seizure, people have died that way!  Eric Taub has been working with ibogaine for over 22 years over hundreds of documented cases. He will give you information over the phone ibeginagin.org . If you plan on doing an ibogaine treatment do not take Suboxone or Subutex. I was on it and have to transfer to SAOs for 3 months and I might still expearence PAWS.

HI mixing any benzo with methadone is dangerous some clinics wont even dose you many wont even sigh you up if your on a benzo but some will just know methadone and benzos together can cause respiratory failure in some cases it is not worth the gamble  good luck and God bless.................Gnarly...........................

My understanding of iboga is benzos should be tapered down to a low dose prior to first ibogaine dose. No drugs should be taken 12 hrs prior and methadone or other opiates should not be taken 24 hrs prior. Because the experience is a few days and no drug is to be taken after treatment begins, the benzo should be low enough to CT. Erowid has the most complete research I have found. I truly believe in having a solid plan. I would call the facility and ask what a safe dose of benzo is. I would start tapering them ASAP. While there is no proof of iboga alone causing death, combined with other drugs it has caused death. Be safe and educated on all aspects of the treatment. I want to know how it goes and what you learn.

That's me.Got to have the benzos and its got nothing to do with mixing the two methadone and klonopin.Question my doctor is being investigated by the DEA and is taking people off methadone and putting them on subutex-Will that help like methadone?I know it cost more,but I'm telling myself it will be better and I will have more energy-methadone has made the last 16 or so years of my life terrible!

Yes,there is a difference-I'm on that same combo, but for about 17 years.I started at a methadone clinic and went to a doctor to get xanax and hydrocodone.The methadone xanax combo made me lazy and I stayed sleepy.Xanax is much more hard to come off of than klonopin and doctors say the methadone xanax combo is worse.But honestly I can't say I'm any better on methadone klonopin combo-But I went from 120 bars to 90 1 mg klonopin about a year ago.

I hope it works out for you.  It makes me a little nervous that it isn't done in the U.S.  Have you tried tapering down on the opiates?  The benzos will help you with some of the unpleasant side effects.

I might have to do Methadone for a few weeks until I can get my ibogaine treatment. The most important thing is I stay away from the Sub. I just want to be honest with you all. I still have not decided, my mind seems to change quite frequently. I just don't want to do anything really stupid by not having a plan . I wish I could just do this cold turkey, but I don't know what I am liable to do on the 2nd or 3rd day of a cold turkey detox. I will be leaving out of the country in a few weeks for my treatment ( maybe sooner) . I live in Southern Cali, so I will be going to Mexico. I do appreciate your feed back.

Didn't read the whole thread, but have a buddy who has been hosipalized 3 times for methadone/Klonopine. He almost died last time and he took it as prescribed. That doctor retired, yay, finally. That doc was feeling guilty, he has 3-6 months to live, but he is asking families of OD victims if they blame him. He was old school and had no accountability. I know of 13 people who died in his care. He registered a few of them as natural causes. He loved the benzo methadone mix, but many die from it. I want to hear about iboga, I am very shamanistic in my approach to life, so would love to hear your experience. Several local people have been clean over a year after iboga. Good luck.

I have been researching ibogaine for 6 months now, I have personally made friends with many peolpe who are clean now I know this will work .
If you really want to decide for yourself this is how I started
 1. I learned everthing I could about Howard Lotsof (this is a must)
 2.go through this entire site . It is the foundation Howard and his wife Nor a founded. http://www.doraweiner.org     Since Howard died you the foundation is no longer a plce you can contact
 3. Watch the ibogaine stort ( you tube)
Another doc is done by pbs called Detox or Die.
You will go from there. 
The most thing I can stress. Don't think its impossible when it comes to money

I have decided not to do methadone. I have been off Subutex for almost 3 months by using morphine and norco. Now I will be doing a ibogaine treatment.  I need to save the money for my treatment , so i am going to use until my treatment. If you do not know what ibogaine is you can google it. I don't know how to explain it all. But I am 100% serious about getting clean ,I have waisted 12 years of my life. Thank you all.

I was taking the Methadone for about 12 years with 2 other meds. One being the Klons..I never noticed on the Methadone paper it says not to mix with Klons. But it does.. I know that both are not supposed to be taken at the same time due to suppressing the respiratory. I will however say that you can c/t the Dones if you get to a lower does..BUT You must taper the Benzos..I did not taper any 3 of me meds and I paid a High Ash price for this in a very long detox. The Pharmacist told me it had to do a lot with c/ting the Benzo. I would take the Methadone with my other drug to get up and going like speed..Then the Benzo at night..DO NOT c/t the Benzo.
Are you trying to get off both or ALL??
Make sure you go and tell your Dr so they can give you the right advise on how to do this nice and easy..OK.

From what I have read on this board, Methadone w/d is worse than if you just stopped the opiates.   The klonipin will help a lot with opiate w/d.  Have you tried to go cold turkey?   More info on how many pills and what mg would be helpful if you would like to share.
