Methadone withrawal advice pls...

Have spent many yrs on pain killers since accident...last 5 on methadone. When started was on 180mg day......(I am about 5'5" and normally weigh about 110lbs)  Anyhow since my last mri I have been bringing myself down as my neurologist refused. Its been a year, I was down to a every other day 20mg and 15mg...so  20 one day 15 the next and so on.....My last appointment I admitted it to my doc. I have been quite happy with the results but he was angry and told me he had repeatedly told me not to cut my dose...We had words I told him would be a cold day in hades before I would ever see him again, threw my bottle at him stormed out with him saying.....I am still your dr....
ANYHOW, I had 2 days hard withdrawals, then 3 days unable to stand for any amount of time and now I am on day 6 I feel much better but still cannot stand for very long, taking lots of Vit C's and am down to 104lbs....HELP !  How long does it take to get your bodies energy back??? Feeling very VERY frustrated and now even worrying it wont come back and I have kids I need to care for....Any kind advice would be so very very welcome...OH  Also, my heart feels like it is burning quite often, I assumed it was due to my blood pressure coming back up as it had gone dangerously low during the first 4 days....

well congratulations for taking a stand and getting off methadone. Your symptoms are going to last for awhile..the energy being the last to return. Try forcing yourself out for a walk every day, even a couple of times. That will help. I quit methadone cold turkey from 65mg..so I had pretty bad w/d..I'd never do it again. I have an article in my journal written by a dr. about methadone and things you can do to help your body recover. He was also an addict. Hope it helps.and again..Congrats..don't give up..you need to give it time and there is no way to bypass that..
