My first post here

Hi guys.
I am new on this site.
Been taking Vicodin off and on for 5 years after I
hurt my back. Now I take 2 to 3 a day just to not
get sick from stopping it. I just bought a bottle
of Withdrawl Ease on line and receive it today.
I have 5 more Vicodins left. Do I wean off and take
this Withdrawl Ease...Anyone use this before.
Best of luck to everyone.
Kev

Congrads on your  clean time!!! the days are starting to add uo huh? everyday you stay clean is another day between you and your addiction. It really does start to get easier. Are you looking into aftercare of some sort? It doesnt have to be meeting there are several options for aftercare but  it would prob  be wise to start some kind of aftercare program right away.  You seem like you are doing really good. I also went cold turkey from about a 150-200mg a day habit---its was painfull the first  few days but it did ease up after about 3 days. For me the lack of sleep was the hardiest becuase lack of sleep equalls lack of energy and as a nurse aid working 12 hour shifts OMG it was rough. I keep a lil journal and wrote my pain in it everyday----now anytime i am feeling weak I pull my journal out and read about the pain i endured and the thought of going through all that agin so far by the grace of God has been one thing that has helped me stay clean. Good Luck, Lee---if you need anything send me an email

Kev, do you have a doctor you could go see right away.  My doctor was upset how I went off my hydrocodone,  I was taking 2 - 6 5/500 since last July, decided last week just to quit and deal with the pain, big mistake, felt like crap, I didn't call him until into the third day of withdrawl.  He said you just never stop taking it all of a sudden you need to ween off it, do you think you could do that?  I know for some weening is hard if you have the pills there.  Good Luck to you.  I went CT Monday and today is the first day I feel somewhat better.

Hi Kev - welcome to the forum.  If you only take 2 - 3 vicodin per day, you are in much better shape than some and your withdrawal should be somewhat easier.  My suggestion is to break the vicodin that you have left in half.  If you usually take one pill each time you take one, take only a half.  When it comes time for your next dose - see if you can tough it out and skip it, then when it is time for the next one, just take a half - that will start the process.  See if you can get down to just taking 1 to 1/2 pill by the time you get down to the last of them, then stop all together.  This will be a short taper, but it will help make it more bearable.  Read some of the info in the health pages on supplements that can help you too.  Take some good hot baths, get out and exercise - even it is just a walk and you don't feel like it - do it, you will feel better.  Give yourself a good 3 - 5 days and the worst will be over.  Most of all, keep posting, we have all been through this and will be here to support you.  You will make it.

Well first of all welcome to the forum. I have heard conflicting reports about the w/d ease but i dont think it would hurt to try. You for sure fluse those 5 pills, you will not need them anymore, not for your new clean life! At your dosage you are prob gona suffer minor w/ds--a bit like the flu for 3 or 4 days---after that it starts to get better. Try to exercise, take hot baths, stay hydrated, eat food, take an OTC sleep aid at night, just try to take it easy and suffer it out as if it were truely the flu. Good Luck, Lee.
