yes you only need to have the desire to quit...thats all
can you attend a NA meeting and not be clean/sober yet?
Good for you don't commit yourself to any one meeting at first they all are good but its kind of like car shopping go in with a positive and willing attitude and find the group you enjoy the most and make it your home group good luck and stay strong
Congrats -- keep it up!!!
Hey congrats on your choice you have choose recovery not just abstinents your off to a good start keep pushing the meetings ...it truly is a life or death decision........Gnarly....................
Thanks! I went at 730 last night it started at 8, there was about 30 people there, was pretty cool when you have people around to relate too.. I was told about another meeting on Monday with a younger group which i will be attending. So im looking forward to that! Its pretty amazing!
I am so damn proud of you I am going to stand on my head and do the happy dance! OMG dude! You are upside down and you look great! Let us know how it went! PM me when you get a chance.
Everyone has said what needed to be said :) I just wanted to say congratulations!!!!
Take what you need from it, give it time, one meeting won't show you the full potential the program offers. Try it for awhile.
You are doing amazing. Keep it up, so proud of you.
Congrats! Let us know how the meeting went!
Good for you! I hope it went well. Keep going back.
Na is an awesome and rewarding place to be if you want to stay clean it got me 3 1/2 years clean then when I thought I was saved and quit going I relapsed addiction is a horrible thing and it stays with you forever. But you need to work it do all your steps get a sponsor and you will learn to love it it becomes your family god bless
You know the first couple of meetings i heard so much of myself it actually kind of made me mad but then i had to come to the realization that i was where i needed to be. The people have alot of good things to say and i bought the n/a book and started reading it. If i want to stay "sober" this is what i'm going to have to do. Doing 90 meetings in 90 days to start. On friday, i will be picking up a 30 day key tag! YeeHaa! For me :)
Yay! Even though I am still tapering I went to my first NA meeting a few weeks ago for support and found it so enlightening. I joined a Buddhist Chapter of a 12 step group and loved it (but I really dig that kind of thing, the whole concept of Buddhism is to live a life without craving..)
anyway, let us know how it goes. congrats on everything....
Good for you....and lots of praise for your open mind and willingness!
We usually find what we are looking for......take what you like and leave the rest......the support and the love in the rooms "can be" phenomenal.
I found listening....soaking up just what I needed to hear....was the ticket!
Hope to hear back from you~
Since i quit (jan 1) and could actually move again i've gone every day to an n/a meeting. From the first day i started i've heard what i needed to hear to know i'm exactly where i need to be! You'll be amazed! Go!
I was given this advice...Take the cotton out of your ears and put them in your mouth~
