NEED SOME HELP

Everyone that takes pain pills is usually in pain ... I am not in pain, I like the energy level I get when I take them, not to mention that I drink the 5 hour energy drinks as well. Like today, I have taken (11) 7.5/325 ... I am running low and it scares me ... I am scared to death about the withdrawls, I have never went through them but I have seen my mom go through them and she is the one that needs them more than I do. She is actually in pain. WHAT CAN I DO ?????

Hi Hottrodd, well, what do you want to do? Are you looking for some advice and support to quit the pills? If so, you've come to a wonderful place. Are you just looking for help until you are able to get more pills?

Honestly, withdrawals can be tough. But, you can Definately get through them. There are things you can do to help minimize some of the symptoms. I believe that our minds can make the withdrawals feel worse than they actually are. It's basically Ike a bad case of the flu. They typically last for about a week, and then you gradually start feeling better.

If you are ready to quit for good, then let us help you get through this step by step. You can do it, and we can help!

How long have you been taking the Percocet like this? I am on day 4 of Detoxing from the 7.5/325's right now so I might be able to give you some ideas of what to expect based on your dosages. My background is as follows: Started taking Vicodin 10's in June, 2013 for a knee surgery and became addicted to those taking up to 6 per day, then in October I convinced my Doctor to start me on the Percocet's 7.5's and just started chewing them up like crazy... I was taking up to 8 of those at one point per day then managed to taper down to 2 over the course of a 4 day taper (which was absolutely horrible) Then went cold turkey from there. If I did it over I probably would have just went Cold Turkey rather than suffer out the down stepping of the medication. I'm on Day 4 now with No Pills and I am actually feeling okay. I know that support from family and friends is necessary to beat this addiction, and I recommend talking to someone about it ASAP. The biggest Withdrawal symptom for me so far was the Emotional ups and downs... You can get your doctor involved to help control some of that so it's not so intense. I hope this helped. You can check out some of my prior posts "Percocet Detox: Day 2, 3 etc" Don't let these pills rule your life!

To be quite honest.....am going cold turkey right now off of subs that I've been taking for over 6 yrs before that was hydros and not b/c of pain, but b/c I thought I needed to be supermom!  When I read your post you reminded me of one of my children that I do believe dabbles in pills.  And quite honestly, you scared the crap out of me. You made me remember that  my children see EVERYTHING! You are NOT alone b/c pills have swept over this country like a bad plague (that's what I like to call it).  If you haven't been taking them for too long, then the w/d's shouldn't be super bad but the longer you take them, the worse it is. This is just my opinion b/c I am suffering and it is NOT FUN!
