There IS an interaction. Zoloft does not need to be taken with tramadol. That is very dangerous from what I understand.
Wow! thank you all so much. I don't usually trust doctors much and right now I have no trust in any of them! Lol. I go to a very conservative well known facility and they "don't like narcotics".. even the pain mgt doctors give out tramadol!!!! I had some side effects last year from tramadol like my head twitching so they switched me to vicodin after I persisted. It's actually hard to get any narcotics even if you are dying of pain.. which I do have with herniated/degenerative discs. It kinda ***** cuz i need something for pain.. then end up addicted to the suckers. someone told me though if you are on painkillers for a long time and then go off them any pain you may have is not as bad? Interesting. Anyway.. thank you ALL on the advice in regards to tramadol. Who knew? I do take zoloft and suuposedly there is no interraction between the two meds. Now I'm just terrified!
Let me tell you this...I went from dabbling with vicodin at night honestly, 2.5-5pills every other day, until new doctor suggested I try Tramadol. Well, knowing very well that I have used opiates and pills in the past to escape from the daily stresses going on around me, I should have NEVER touched them. Doctors will glow and refer to this medication as a "non-narcotic with a low probability of dependence." LIES! This medication is just about if not worse to taper off of than vicodin. I went through 180 50mg tablets in less than one month, and surprise, I did not have enough money to return to the doctor and when I did, she was suddenly on vacation. So, its been 1 week or so without this medication and I promise you the withdrawal from this medication will be awful! Do yourself a favor; if you have developed any kind of dependency or addiction to ANY OPIATE, do not take this medication, you will regret it.
tramadol is a sytinic opeate it also works as an ssri anti deperessant so its a double whammy .Coming off it is H ell .you can do this the tram would just make it worse in the end ... keep posting
yes...it's normal!! You will feel better after 3 or 4 days IF you don't take tram. If you do, then you just have to start over when the tram runs out, and the WD will be much worse!
haha... thanks tra :)
I appreciate your feedback!!!!!!! Crazy how docs are so anti-narcs.. at least where I live they are..and they dish this **** out like it's candy. I feel so fuzzy in the head on day one of detox. Makes it hard not to try something :( Is the fuzzy head normal? i feel like I can't think or concentrate.. like my head is not attached to my body and is hanging in the clouds! yuck. I hate this.
Ok....don't make me get all stirred up!!!!!! : )
Your doctor doesn't know what he's talking about. I'm sorry. It is FAR from a great med. It has been the thorn in my a$$ for a long time. Took me a month to get better after I stopped it! It's sneaky too. You may not feel too "high" or not the same high as a narcotic, but anyway.....stay AWAY from it!
Yes...back to straight up detoxing for you!!! I mean it! Don't make me get on you!!! : )
Good luck sweetie! It's going to be over soon!
Please ignore my ignorance .. my primary dr. brought the tramadol up.. I know nothing about it. She said it's a *great med*. So my question is.. If it's not opiate based how is it addicting? I'm only asking because I do not understand at all. I see people are getting addicted to it though and the w/ds are worse!? This *****. My primary thought this was a great idea.. guess I'm back to good 'ole straight up detoxin ;)
no its a really bad .... not a good chioce
Its like a synthetic opiate and highly addictive and wd's are brutal.......
Ok.. lol.. thanks :) I don't know anything about tramadol. All I know is it's not narcotic and can ease withdrawal symptoms. Sounds like it would make another problem altogether.. aye.. I wish there was an easy, painless way to detox!!
NOOOOOOOOO its not good. You will be opening up another can of worms with this stuff. tramahater is better suited to tell you what is all involved. She will be here......sara
No,no,no..want to avoid at all costs..Talk to Tramahater. Better yet, you will definitely be hearing from her :)
