Need Feedaback On Drug Naltrexone

Does anyone here used the drug Naltrexone. Doc gave me ascript but i am not going to begin this drug until I have researched it well. The last 3 drugs she prescribed were not helpful to say the least I became addicted to 2 of them and all three caused major depression. I was hospitalized for 3 months because of it. I have read clinical trials for this drug for both European and United stated studies. They are very conflicting. I wanted to get some personal feedback. If it helps I have a lenghty history of both alcohol and drug use. My fav however, is cocaine. I have been clean for 3 months. Any ifo would be aprreciated.

oh...headache..and if u r addicted to a narcotic..instant withdrawals would occur as it snatches all the opiods off the receptors...in a life or death situation, such as respiratory depresion and loss of heart rate...it is given IV..reaches the brain centers pronto..no one is too extremely worried about the instant wds from a DOC when a person is in respiratory or cardiac depression

narcan/naloxone.reverses the high/problems related to drug abuse...and it is on every 'code" cart in the hospital...if a doctor or nurse accidently oversedates a patient with stong nacotics..of i they come in to the ER with respisatory depression..it is given iv...a code drug as it is given to people in life threatening situations in house to reverse the effects of narcotics and restore respirations

I took Naltrexone. It can be very helpful and beneficial. It helped me get clean the first time I actually gave it a shot. I used the buprenophine shots then started the oral naltrexone pills.

If I can be of any help, please let me know.

naltrexone is very useful in helping alcoholics and cocaine addicts. depending on  the form of naltrexone you ahve like a shot given once a once or a pill taken daily, it will block you from getting high completely. i do know it is somewhat costly so watch for that, but i have seen many people with major alcohol and cocaine addictions stop and stay clean with the aid of naltrexone and counseling, along with meetings. i know the mental cravings for cocaine can be brutal but youve already been through the ahrdest part and i really think if yous tick witha  treatment plan and have realistic goals then you can stay celan and sober for good, best of luck and if you have any other questions let me know-christos

i took revia for 6 months
which is basically the same drug as nal.
i was hoping that it would help me with cravings
it did not
the drug was too much for my liver so i had to quit
also my hair fell out in chunks
i was on that search for the magic pill
fianlly i started going to meetings, and working the 12 steps
i found that medicine was not a sufficient means of recovering from drugs
good luck with it, i hope you do not loose all your hair, like i did
