A different perspective here........ you are seeing a medical doctor, please work with him or her so you don't have such bad w/d's that cause you to relapse, or taper too quickly you relapse. That is why you are paying them is to get the absolute best care for opiate addiction, Suboxone treatment with an end goal of complete sobriety (and I would hope your doc has you committed and contracted to a very intensive on going after care treatment).
I am not trying to do a Suboxone commercial, BUT not every doc prescribing Suboxone is trying to get his or her house in Aspen paid for thru Sub patients..... As with the medical field in general, most care very much for their patients and DO NOT want to hurt them...Hence the 12 to 16 yrs they dedicate 100% of their life to training and residency... think about it, opiate addiction is an epidemic, and docs can only accept 15 patients/month, or so that is the regulation in my state. If you leave/quit your doctor, trust me, there is another addict wanting to get treatment on his/her waiting list. There is no kick back from the pharmacy for the scrips of Sub which again my personal experience is the most expensive part of Suboxone treatment.
If you don't like or trust your doctor, please change physicians. For some Suboxone can be a great tool if that is not your experience, I hope you have your aftercare scheduled. I wish you the best on your journey to sobriety.
H is a really bad thing! I wacthed my younger brother do it for 4 years! It got so bad he needed at least 15 bags to even get off! Its great what ur doing now! Sorry about the multi post. I got lost up in here. I am a good blogger I just needed to get around. But, like I said, this suboxone stuff has got me going.
8 years. clean!!! I know, turn off the a** kicking machine and get back doing what you were doing when you first got clean.
I need to be back to work on the 26th and I work in the O.R, as a S.A. and need to be on my toes. God grant me the serenity.....
Hugs,
Hippie
Hey Hippie,
You are telling my story. My DOC is heroin. and I have done the Suboxone root. I did a quick 16 day detox and it helped a lot because I have heart problems and ct was a problem for me.
I do not like to give anyone advise on Sub detox without a doctor's advise and do suggest you see your doctor. Please, let him/her give you a good taper schedule and although many of the Sub doctors want to keep you on, insist that you want off and ask for the help.
Good luck hun and let us know how you are doing.
Cathy,
If you read my post to Drewboy you can kinda get the idea where I have been. I just want to be clean again. 8 years down the toilet because I took my own will in my hands. It was the best 8 years of my life. Now after reading these sub post I am scared beyond belief. NOT ANOTHER WITHDRAWAL please god.
I think tomorrow I will do 2mg morning after a late sleep in then 2mg before bed. Then try to split that in the coming days.
Well,
I was a heroin addict for 25 years. Got clean through N.A. and stayed clean for 8 years. No booze, pot, drugs PERIOD. Then I hurt my back at work. They had me on everything from Norco to Fentynal including, Oxy, Pers MSContin etc. I was doing good except I became clinically addicted. I had the operation and I was released with Dilaudid 4mg and used them in a way that was not on the script. Therefore, I relapsed.
So to make a long story short I went into treatment for 11 days. They put me on Suboxone 2mg every 8 hours which I have been following for the last 21 days except for a day I had some rea bad pain from the surgery so I took 8 mgs.
Other than that I have not done any more tha 8 mgs a day for the last 21 days. I am scared s******* by the post I read here. I would prefer NOT to be on anything. I am just wondering how much withdrawal pain I will go through if I just completely stop the Sub now. Get my point. I DO NOT need to bo caught up in anything.
Thanks,
Hippie
hi hippie, i would taper on the sub til i got down to just a crumb every other day. you can taper as fast as you feel comfortable. sub ha a very long half life and can be very hard to w/d from. if you get off now it will be much easier. keep us posted we are here to help.
Whats up bro? Ive been on both Suboxene and Subutex for 18 days now and my hightest is 8mgs a day! 3 times a day! What are you on a day and how many? Im also a former OC and perc addict for over 2 yrs all day averyday! It has helped so much for me! You? I also dont want it to be a problem either and ive had to swicth fronm sub to subutex cause of the migrans and stomach problems! I have been tappering myself so how are you doing??
