Taking Percocet while pregnant.

I'm 30 weeks pregnant now and have been taking percocet since I was about 7 or 8 weeks. I'm now taking about 100 milligrams a day around 3 30 milligram percocet. I want to quit taking it all together but don't know how, I tried stopping old turkey and I couldn't take the withdrawals. I'm worried I'm doing something horrible to my baby, and need to stop ASAP. Does anyone have any idea's on how I can do this? I'm terrified I've hurt my baby in some way, what are the possible effects from taking so much so long? Please someone help, I'm desperate..Thanks.

The tapper sounds like a good one.   I do not know anything abt. oxys except they are suposed to be strong opiates and are tough to get off of,  but  I think anything opiate is tough.!   You will be in hugh danger (or I should say, Your baby will be in hugh danger if born like this.  Your dr. needs to know so he can help you NOW, not later.  Do your baby a big favor and get help.  The dr. will think more of you if you do it now instead of waiting untill your baby is born in trouble. And perhaps he will be able to help you get off the pills without harming the baby.   I wish you well and hope for the best for you and baby.

These are just my own thoughts about what you should do.  I know you are worried or you would not have asked for advice.
Take good care of yourself and you will be taking good care of baby.

If I were you I would tell my doctor so he can taper you and also watch over your baby. I know you are very scared but in end it will be best for you and the baby. At least you know that you need to quit and want the help. If you just can;t tell your doc can you tell your parents, husband etc that will be able to help you and support you during this time. How did you get on these by doc or other? Have you w/d before and do you have enough left to ween off?

Does your OB doctor know about your pill useage??  If not you need to tell them ASAP.  Your doctor needs to help you with a taper program.  Your baby could be born and go thru wd's and the nurses and doctors need to know that.  If they dont CPS could be involved.  Do what is right for this baby and for you.          sara
