I was told that it is a very strong opioid. Ugh..im confused. Impact. It wasn't working and I did not know I was to dis continue use of Norco completely. When I told the nurse that I was taking some to help she freaked and said I absolutely could not take both as the wrote basically the same family.
So if anyone had more info please feel free to share.
Thank you!
Diana.
My doctor said that nucynta was an opioid. Im kinda freaking out. Dang it. Im taking about 100mg 3 per day. I have been on Norco for over a year. Dic worried about the Tylenol on my kidneys as I am a type 1 diabetic. Maybe he would put me back on it since I'm having surgery and won't have to be on it for much longer.
Thank you for the comments. Hopefully there will be someone out there that had taken this drug .
Diana
I was given an RX for Nucynta a couple of years back. My doctor also said it was non addictive. It is similar to Tramadol. I never did take it, cause it wasn't what I was seeking at the time. Today, I wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole.
Hey Diana! Glad you posted. I was on Norco before my back surgery too.....just wondering why your Dr thinks it's better for you to be on Nucynta before surgery? Anyhoo....I did A LOT of research awhile back on this drug and posted it because a forum member said her dr told her it was NON-addictive.....that is absolutely NOT true...and from what I can remember it is totally synthetic and a cousin drug to Tramadol.
I'll look thru my old posts and see if I can find it. If so, I'll post it for you~
Hi & Welcome, I also have no experience with this particular drug but I did ask to have your post moved to the ASA forum. You may get more help there. Best of luck.
Oh, you should post this question on the addiction: substance Abuse site, you will get more answers....Not sure anyone comes to social addiction...unless they want to hear ME whine. Sorry, just trying to make you smile. Message me later, I'll try and be around....Glen
Hey Diana,
I have zero experience with this drug, but when I searched it on web md, it scared the hell out of me. Also called tapentadol, taking the wrong dose can cause severe breathing problems, and taking it with other drugs can be a bigger problem. Not trying to alarm you, but there is no way to call your doc and ask him more about it? How many doses a day was it prescribed? I sent you a message earlier, and I got yours. Thanks for caring... You aren't alone, okay??
Glen
