OVERDOSING ON MEDS TO GET HIGH
I'VE BEEN TO THE ER (EMERGENCY ROOM) 7 TIMES BECAUSE I OVERDOSED ON MY PRESCRIPTION MEDS. I'M A 47 YEAR OLD MALE DIAGNOSED WITH SCHIZO-EFFECTIVE BI-POLAR. THE FIRST TWO TIMES WAS WHEN I WAS SUICIDAL AT THE AGE OF 25. THE 1ST OF THESE 2 HAD ME ON THE PSYCHIATRIC WARD. THE PSYCHIATRIST RELEASED ME AFTER ABOUT 2 WEEKS EVEN THOUGH I'D TOLD HIM I WASN'T FEELING ANY BETTER AND STILL FELT SUICIDAL. AFTER I'D GOT HOME I AGAIN TOOK MOST OF MY PRESCRIPTIONS. THIS WOUND ME UP IN THE CSU (CRISIS STABLIZATION UNIT) IN ST. PETE IN FLORIDA. THEY EVENTUALLY TRANSPORTED ME TO THE STATE HOSPITAL FOR STABLIZATION. THE OTHER 5 TIMES I USED THE MEDS TO GET HIGH LESS THAN 2 YEARS AGO. I WAS AT THE AGE OF 45 YEARS OLD. I USED DRUGS THAT I USED TO BE ON ALONG WITH MEDS I WAS CURRENTLY ON. MY BLOOD WAS CHECKED EACH TIME. I DON'T USE PCP BUT 2 OF THESE 5 HAD ME REGISTERED PCP IN MY BLOODWORK. CAN I GET A POSITIVE PCP READING FROM COMBINATIONS OF ALL THE DRUGS I TOOK? I'VE BEEN CLEAN SINCE THEN. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY ADVICE ON WHAT KIND OF MEDICAL PROBLEMS THIS CAN CAUSE IN THE LONG TERM? MOST OF MY MEDS I HAD TAKEN ARE MENTAL ILLNESS DRUGS AS WELL AS DRUGS FOR EPILEPSY. ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

I got a new Pdoc and some new meds. I feel and act so much better.
Are you happy with your psych meds?
There are free support groups thru NAMI.

I'm not sure what you are asking. We aren't doctors and cannot possibly tell you what you have done to your body. I don't know if a combo of drugs can produce a positive PCP reading or not.
Are you currently abusing any drugs? Do you want to get off them? This is primarily a support group for those in detox and recovery, but as I said, we cannot give medical advice or evaluate anyone's health.
