I just detoxed from percocet. I was using 50-75mg/day for 6 years and I quit ct. It was not fun.... I had a few days that were pretty rough but I called in sick frrom work for days 2 and 3... by day 4 I felt a little better and I am now on day 6. I feel great! My physical symptoms still come and go but aren't bad at all and the temptation to use will probably always be there but I feel great because I made it! I am going to a NA meeting tonight and I can tell you that detoxing needed to be bad for me. I will never go through that again. You will get good advice on here. Drink Lots of water and gatorade and try some Ltyrosine to help with energy. Also when you feel like you're skin is crawling and you can't sit still get in a hot bath. It is amazing how much that helped. You can do this. Take your life back. A life without pills is definately worth a little pain. Good Luck!

Lissa.... for how long would be the taper that your doctor has given to you ? if you are having your doctor's help here it is great, go for it.... i could not follow a taper by myself but now that your husband knows he can help you by giving the pills to you daily, somewhat the taper will lessen a little bit your wds so don't think it is bad if you follow it. Meanwhile you could read the health pages ( the thomas recipe and the amino acid protocol ) ... get ready on mind and body for the time coming ! :) take a mineral supplement, a vitamin one and go for a walk when you are feeling anxiety... eat healthy... make yourself stronger by filling yourself with positive thinking...you are truly making the best decision and saving your life, it is not easy, lissa but YOU CAN DO IT!! sure :)

Tell us what the symptoms are and we'll tell you what helps...Right now, start pusjing liquids!
You'll need lots of fluid everyday. Be sure to eat. Get some vitamins with minerals. The taper plan will really cut down on the severity of withdrawal but you need to stick to it. Don't go up or down. Stay in touch with your doctor, too.
