Need Help

I've been taking 4-5 Percocet 10/325 for about 5 years.  I've had a lot of personal situations take place lately and slipped into depression.  I am taking Prozac and got so depressed this weekend that I drank all day on Saturday.  I am no longer drinking and want to get off the meds.  What recommendations do you have.

Hi. I would look into suboxone. Not having to count my perks or worry about how many I have is so freeing.

I would say after 5 yrs of taking them your going need SOME help. I wish you the best.

Hello & Welcome.
I sure hope this post gets to you. I had posted one but it got lost somewhere in cyber space.

Talk to the Dr and see if they can give you some comfort meds during w/ds. We do home detoxes on here too. Right now start drinking tons of fluids and mostly water to help flush out the toxins. Get yourself set up with some Healthy foods and vit/min. Some vit/min will help with the anxiety and sleep, while others will help with energy on down the line. The physical is over before the mental. It will take time for the Brain Chems and Body to adjust back after the removal of these stims.

I am not to sure about the Prozac. Maybe it is not the right one for you, or it has not kicked in yet. The thing about these opiates, is they change the chemical makeup in our Brain. SO with a bit of Time & Patience, you should come around.  Stick around, as I am sure others will chime in. Maybe hit some kind of Support groups along the way. This will really help the Mental part of Addiction. I do wish you the best. Good luck and I sure hope you stick to your recovery. It is a process with many changes.
Bless

Hello & Welcome to our Community.

Do you get these from a DR? If so, ask him how you can do a nice SLOW taper off of these pills.

We do help with home detoxes here too, but YOU should discuss this with the Doc.
The Doc can give you some comfort meds during w/ds or we can also suggest some things that can help ease it a bit, but you will still have some w/ds, as your Brain & Body has to adjust back after the removal of these stims. Start now by flushing the toxins out, build up a good immune system and pick up some good vit/min that will help a bit with sleep, anxiety and so forth..Eat Healthy. The physical will be over way before the mental. The mental will take some time and patience, and a lil bit of Support goes along ways.
Stick around!!! I am sure other will chime in..keep us updated.
