I used to use a lot of cocaine and quit no problem but I have a lot of trouble sleeping and my body hurts very bad while iam not high, I was thinking of smoking a little pot to help me sleep , any help appreciated. I tried suboxone but it made me sick , I threw up all over the movie theatre parking lot , that was an interesting night

I was dying last night 1 Half hour of sleep Woke up and felt like i was on day one bouncing around in bed walking around. I had snapped and fessed up to my girls mom ive been using painkillers for 1 and a half yrs now. She had leg surgery and was on oxy too but stopped as she took it normally. She gave me an Ambien and i fell out like a tired 2 yr old. I only got 4 hrs but it felt great.
I looked at the bottle and did some research it appears to be habit forming and effects the brain. I dont really want to be delendent on this **** to sleep and the side effects if you stop taking it appear to be similar to Percocet . Chills, depression, sleeplessness, stomach cramps, etc. I just wanna be normal again..lol

Melatonin work but 20 mg is insane.Google melatonin u only need about 2mg then go righ tto bed,i have tried it and used it sometimes. It is not a long term solution tho.Not suggested to use it more than a week as it will cause depression but for some it does work.
Although the same person had a lot of spot on advice. But when your body produces melatonin naturaly,it is never higher than even 1/2 milligram of it.Melatonin is more suited for rearanging a sleep habit.Like resetting your sleep clock.

That depends on how long you used for i belive.Usualy for me,and believe me i can take enuff to kill a person, but at the same time just a few does the trick.
But day 5  is key, that's when u want to eat, normal bowel movements.Sleep starts coming back.
I use trazedone to help sleep,Anxiety isn't too bad.Read up on PAWS tho so u know what to expect,it can come back down the road,it is the price we pay.
But don't fear support is right here.Nutrition plays a big part.GOOD food.not preprepared boxed fast food stuff, that stuff is poison.
just hang in there a lil longer it does get better!!!!

Well its been a while since I've posted anything but with great news. I quit myself , my habit was about 200 dollars worth of em a week.  I took 3 days off of work and locked myself in my house during hurricane sandy. I must commend all of you for helping people like me everyday. I wouldnt wish this on anyone. I havent slept since i quit iam on day 4 now. Iam pretty sure the worst is over but it consisted of crapping about 8 times every 6 hours... I will no longer make fun of my gf for her menstrual cramps because I thought I was being stabbed. I can finally eat and move without hurting now. I feel like iam almost me again but I can't brag as iam not out of the woods yet everyday is a freaking struggle. I also have a question as ive stated i can easily say i may have had about 2 hours of sleep the last 4 days and i feel like iam having panic attacks sometimes. How long until i feel 100%?

Right now you have a modest habit that you can get under control if you truly want to live a sober life.  Cocaine withdrawal is merely psychological, where as, Opiate withdrawal is physical.  Instead of reverting to smoking pot or taking another substance like Lyrica, I would suggest looking into vitamin, herbal and over the counter remedies to help you get by the first few days.  Magnesium and Potassium both aid in neuromuscular communication, which will help your body alleviate your pain symptoms. Also, get yourself sone icy hot patches and take hot baths. I can tell you from experience that the hardest part of withdrawal only lasts about 5 days.  Its honestly like having the flu.  Once you get through the first few days, it is only a matter of time before you start feeling good again.

Your body will need time to recuperate, so don't expect a quick recovery. A lot of the chemicals that your brain would create normally become inactive during abuse, so it takes time for your body to recognize this shortage and begin manufacturing those chemicals again.  One of these chemicals is Melatonin, which helps you regulate your sleep patterns.  Since you are having issues with sleep, I would recommend getting Melatonin (about 20mg 30 mins before you want to go to bed) Hope this gets you started and if you want to chat, PM me any time - Kelly

How long  have you been taking the devil oxycontins? As they are the ones that will get you. Quit now while you have a chance to live a normal life.

Are prescribed lyrica or Neurontin? They seem to keep you calm and really help with  the cravings and side effects for some. Your not taking much so u may want to just have someone u trust taper u. I know if your like me, I have no one I can trust. LOL.. found that out the hard way. But i am trying the lyrica I have had in my pill bag for quite a while after reading that it helps alot of people, just started today, but usually by now I would b having cravings and probably have given in and taken another oxy 30. I posted info in my journal if your interested.

Hi,

Well, you will have to quit at some point. May as well be before you get too far into it. I suggest that you stop without replacing one drug for another. It is easy to switch addictions.
