I totaly agree with the exercise part, get your heat beat high enough and keep going, it butns all the chocolate i seem to eat
Hi!! Im 69 days today and I feel the exact same way as you ... I am a total unpleasant person to be around. If this is the new me then I am screwed. But i dont think it is, I just think we need to give it more time ... Our brains have to heal. Keep going you should be feeling better really soon.
Oh and to your question about whether or not this is the "new you" I highly doubt it! It is the effect of your post withdrawal period, most likely, and you have to find ways to cope with all of these stressful things in life. You have been medicating those things away in the past and this also inhibited your bodies ability to effectively regulate your moods and hormones among other things, so give it time and do the good, healthy things that you know will work.
People don't want to blv things like yoga, meditation ,exercise, and simple good nutrition work, but dang it they do! They are simple answers to complicated problems, but they take work and don't come in a magic pill. Try something and see if you don't feel your anxiety go after wards.
Oh and I think exercise before anti depressants, but if you can't shake it by natural means, then yes I would say ok consult a physician. I do think that resorting to more pills is a real problem though. Exercise is what I will preach.
I also wanted to say that yes 240 mg is a high dose, and if you went CT, that's even harder to adjust. If it's methadone, then woah that's a bad boy and it's tentacles will hold onto you for quite sometime.
It takes time, and a lot of hard work to repair all of the damage done to you by long term opiate use, but nonetheless it's an incredibly worthwhile endeavor to stay clean.
You do need to find healthy ways to handle this anxiety bc it can lead you back from whence you came, and I don't want to see that.
I hope things get better
I recommend this amazing therapy called running :) It's incredibly powerful and therapeutic if you can do it. Also just know that if you tell yourself before hand that you can't, without even trying, then you're really selling yourself short. I struggle with anxiety and it's always so so much better after I run. I even get anxious about running, and tell myself I can't do it, or people will be watching me, or I will fail... but I force myself bc I have been doing it a while and I know very well the way the endorphin rush makes you feel after. It's a sweet reward.
I would also recommend L-tyrosine and adrenal supps. Opiates definitely cause issues with the adrenal glands and inhibit your ability to handle stress in a normal healthy way. Your level of Cortisol is increased and you experience stress more intensely than a non opiate user would. Therefore, you feel more anxiety, and your heart may pound. You need to help your body to balance and restore those abilities that it once had pre use. I say exercise, l-tyrosine, and adrenal supplements. They help me.
Good luck friend, and I am sorry you're struggling. I know it can be downright crippling. It's so hard to force yourself and push through. It's worth it to do it though.
Im in the same boat as you, everythimg from the dose, durration, and anti depressent thoughts, im at day 50, i believe day 60 is where paws peak, it should be getting better shortly keep it up
I used this stuff you spray on your tongue 2-3 times in 1 go when your feeling anxious, nervous, sad, stressed etc. people use it to help cope with loosing a loved one etc.
I cant for the life of me remember the name. Its in a little yellow box and its got the last name " Remedy " but cant remember the first. It has a few different flowers extracted in it, passion flower etc.
I know you guys can buy it because Doctor Oz was talking about it a few weeks ago and i couldnt believe i was already using it and then he recommended it.
When you start getting stressed spray it on your tongue as many times throughout the day. I carry it in my bag and never got anxious, it was a life saver.
Rescue Remedy i believe its called.
Dear Wanting life again. In my opinion you're doing great.
Especially based on 240 mg pr day. That's a high daily dose. Be proud you got off! Yes I think while your brain heals anxiety is very normal. If the depression is low grade I'd fight through it without antidepressant meds.
When a person takes antidepressants, the instructions are always to get plenty of exercise, eat healthy, do mind exercise like yoga breathing & meditation to get meds to work. Also group therapy helps. Focus on this first to get you over the hump. Pamela
