Planning on quitting in April

Hey all,  My husband and myself are addicted to Oxys and Percocets, and we have gotten ourselves to 1 20 oxy or 2 10mg perk a day.  I have been reading all the posts and have learned alot and what we are planning on doing is by the middle of March be down to 10 mg a day then the last 2 weeks of March be down to 5 mg a day then the beginning of April cold turkey.  We both have the week off so I hope this works.  Wish us luck.  I know this is probably premature in posting but I had it on my mind and I had to say something to someone because I can't tell any of my co=workers but I did tell my Mom.

I also want to Say congrats to EVERYONE out there that has been clean I am so proud of all of you.  I know by May I will be a much happier person and my husband and myself can get our lives back

My granddaughter is just starting cold turkey today and is, as everyone else is, having a terrible time.  She has been on percocet for about four months, up to 30 mg, 3 times a day.  It seems that most others have been on for years.
Does this drug become fully addictive right away, or should she have it a bit easier after only four months.  this seems like a heavy dose to me, though, is it?

Vicki has a good point. We can all usually get through the withdrawal but there are phyc problems created during the process..not to mention the problems that were there pushing you into addiction in the first place will also need to be delt with.Chances of relaps will be much greater otherwise. Perhaps an out-pacient recovery aftercare. We are all pullin for you both.Keep us all posted.

I am just going to get ourselves stocked up with all the stuff from the Thomas Receipe and drink allot of fluids.  I have tried detoxing before but I always fail after day 2 but after reading all the posts I have gotten allot of information.  What I found was Airbourne tablets really help with the immune system

Sounds like a good plan and I wish you well.   With such a good and slow taper, your withdrawal may not be so bad.  The mental will be a problem, though.  Have you thought about recovery care or ways to rehab yourselves?
