Pregnancy and methadone

Does anyone have any experience being pregnant and on methadone? I have been looking at all of the posts I can find, and it seems that most I have read have had moms that are convinced that tapering is what they must do for the sake of their baby. From what I've read medically speaking, doctors prefer that you not taper while pregnant. It's all so confusing to me.

Up until last month I was on methadone. 30 - 50mgs a day. I wanted to get off but Dr said no. it's worse for baby to go thru w/d than stay on. So he had me switch to subutex. No withdrawl but its supposed to b alot better for baby. Dr said on this the probability and severity of w/d is cut down also. Does ur Dr kno about the methadone? Mine didn't. I was getn mine from a friend.
