Roberts suboxone taper plan

Hello all. I'm here to ask for help.  Does anyone know of Roberts suboxone taper plan.  I have never been a very heavy user of oxy but stool an addict. Started about 1.5 years ago messing around with 5mg percocets and then of course built a tolerance to roughly 60mg per day. I tried to stop cold turkey but just couldn't do it.  I started 1mg Suboxone yesterday and felt it was too much ..felt high but not euphoric and had a headache. I'm def not looking to feel anything but normal and def do NOT want to stay in this for very long. Im just not sure to half the dose today ir do a 25% reduction and how long does he recommend doing Or staying on sub. Ive heard his plan really works well if u really want to get off this vicious cycle with minimal wds. Please if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

I am currently 7 months pregnant and the doctors have switched me from suboxone to subutex saying it is better for the baby. I would like to be off of it by the time the baby is born. Does anyone have recommendations?

Just came across this and thought I would offer my experience, I was on suboxone and also switched to subutex when I got pregnant. I too wanted to stop taking it all together for the sake of the baby but my OB and my suboxone prescriber both told me it was actually safer for the baby if I continued the subutex. My daughter was born perfectly healthy although she did have to be weaned off the subutex with morphine and was in the NICU for a couple of weeks her withdrawal symptoms were minor and she had no complications. She's 18mos now and she's perfect, I would follow the recommendations of your drs even though it may not seem like continuing the subutex would be best drs today are much more aware of the risk/benefits of taking or discontinuing meds during pregnancy. Hope you and baby are doing well and the info is helpful

Thanks guys for your input. I really appreciate it.  The withdraws for me were just so horrendous I didn't think they would be that bad being i wasnt a heavy user and I ended up relasping that's why I started the subs with what I thought was a low dose..I guess I'm fooling myself with thinking it might be better with subs.   I mean the rls was so incredibly bad that I would have just like to cut my legs off.  Not sure which route to take now :-/. I will try again ct

Welcome to the forum!  Never heard of "Robert's suboxone taper plan".??

If your using history is a year and a half and you were taking up to 60 mg/day of percs.....those are short acting....NOT synthetic....and you'd be better off to either taper down (or if you can't taper like I couldn't) just bite the bullet and be ok "not being ok" for about 5-7 days.

Suboxone has a purpose....but for your habit/addiction....suboxone is WAY stronger, totally synthetic....has a LONG half life so getting it totally out of your system can take up to 21 days.  If you just get off the percs w/o subs....you're body will heal MUCH faster.

Here's a conversion chart so you know how much sub is equivalent to what you've been taking:

http://www.medhelp.org/user_journals/show/18499/Conversion-table-other-drugs-equivalent-to-sub

You're using a MUCH stronger opioid to get off an opioid....just my take~

Hi Zipperhead. You've come to the right place for good information.
Ahh, yes, I've read tons about the Roberts method. Just google it & you will be kept busy for days!
I have no information about subs. I am a Opioid addict.   I've used for years & have been dry, clean for years all of my life.  This is the only drug I've taken on a regular basis.
They only time you do not get off pills is when you choose to continue to take pills. I am serious. Not being simplistic.  So keep trying to stop & you will succeed.        When you say you can not CT,  do you honestly believe a Robert Taper or anyone else's taper will be easier than CT?
I have tapered into sober life. I've c t into sober life.
If I had a choice I would CT. That's how hard a Successful Taper is to accomplish.    Go to the Dr. If you have some medical or mental conditions
That prohibits you from CT or if you must take Dr prescribed Subs, the Dr should be the one to confirm this for you.     Pamela
