Hooked on Ativan? Help

OK so I was oxycodone, and morphine for work accident, and messed up my back.  Long story short I decided I wanted to be off.  It was pure hell, and I should have told my doc.  When seeing her, I was feeling better but no sleep.

She gave me 1mg Adivan to take 3 times a day.  I did, but could not sleep, so took 4 more at night and nothing maybe a cat nap.  I've been on these things for 3 days, and did have a drink with my buddy who just had a baby.  

-How quick can one get hooked?

-Could the alcohol relapsed me, into my opiate mind or something?

To night I too 4 ativans at night, and 3 Advil PM, and 3 Benadryls.  I got geal drowsy and if i close my eyes I would see weird things.  So its not working, I just don't understand how I feel fine just taking only one, but at night I wake my self up with jerks, and anxiety.

Yeah once you get all that stuff out of your system your sleep patterns should return to normal. Those benzos have worse withdrawls than the opioids if you get hooked to them those benzo withdrawls could be lethal where the opioids won't kill you from wds. I kicked my drug of choice (heroin) on my couch. Mixing up that cocktail for sleep is a bad idea. Imo tough it out the best you can, go to an NA meeting and keep going if your a true addict. The wds will go away but meetings really help with the cravings at least it did for me. Remember substituting one drug for another dosen't work with an addicts brain because 1 is too many and 1000 is never enough.

Welcome to the forum.. I have to be honest with you from the start.. taking Adivan and drinking.. bad idea unless yo do not mind lapses in memory.. the jerking and stuff.. You are ODing on all the meds you are taking.. Gosh I know you want to sleep but I must be honest.. If I were taking 4 Adivan a day I would be looped.. then mixing it with all the other stuff.. no wonder you are seeing weird things.. If you are serious of getting out of your addiction.. stop drinking  and flush the Adivan..  yeah good for wd.. but guess what you sound like a addict to me.. I guess it takes one to recognize one.. Not meaning to sound harsh But You are going to kill yourself with these combination's.. I wish you well on your journey.. lesa
