I used my 3-4 days of detox "flu time" to plan and plan on how I was going to keep my commitment to be clean of oxycodone. Read and reread the Forum posts here. Really good suggestions from people who have been there done that. I have made it 273 days thus far and plan for more clean days.
The parts about cutting all sources,
sharing "your secret,"
aftercare and working a program of recovery, all true and
are all steps necessary to win the mental battle. Keep coming back!
Congratulations on the first step to taking your life back! This is a great place to begin the Journey..... It's not going to be easy... But I'll say it's well worth the Journey :) we are all rooting for yo , and pray for nothing short of the best out come for you and your sobriety!!
Thanx for the encouraging words and suggestions. I know this is gonna s*** but I HAVE TO DO IT. I am tired of being a ruled by a little white pill. I want my life back!
You are in a good place and taking off of work was a damn good idea! Don't over think it, don't fear it, go through it HEAD ON! Fluish symptoms for 4/5 days, make yourself well, and consider an aftercare program of sorts. You have time (the next 5 days, lol,) to research what will work for u! U can do this, absolutely! Post when it ***** and keep us informed of how your doing. Good luck and push yourself!

You have five days and you will have the flu for about three or four of those days...you have supplied yourself for doomsday...so you have to hunker down in the bunker and tough it out. It has, can and will be done by many...I promise you that...I have done it and gone to work (not fun) so don't worry about it...You will be sick, don't get me wrong...but the more you worry about it the tougher it will be...so just let it happen and stay posted on this site for wisdom, encouragement and companionship...mmmmmmk?
"it seems so unnatural,Peter Gabriel, too"
Dear Cal, you are in a special community on MedHelp. We can support your decision to stay off the pain pills. In my experience the mental part is a challenge. So stay connected.
It's good to get a plan. You know post here. Join a group. Talk to someone in person that you trust.
If you have any physical ailments, figure out your pain control, so you won't be tempted. I like fruit to help me. But get some stuff like yogurt too. Cashews. Try to stay clear of refined sugar & too much caffeine.
I look for Ahh pictures online. Like kittens, baby wild animals. It helps.
This is an important step in your life. Be careful not to stress the future. Each day you are a winner. Read positive quotes to help. Pamela
