Sry. Hit send too soon. He has also been clean 21 days so to go Back to something tht u would have physical WD from is kinda silly Idk... again IMO only. I just think mayb we have different views on things thts all. I can say I had a tougher time coming off of tramadol than I did heroin. A lot of posts on here are about ppl coming off of tht and they all have a very tough time bc of the WD symptoms. Jeff I hope ur able to find something to help u. Have u thought of speaking to ur Dr? Mayb he can help u .

I totally understand what ur saying and in no way shape or form was I trying to b rude to u I was just saying u should kno everything about it before u do it. Personally I'm on suboxone and it saved my life . I have a very strict taker plan so when I jump I'll have little to no WD. Everything I've heard about krantom leads me to believe its not something ppl should b taking but again thts only my opinion and to each their own. Nothing against u for taking it. If its right for u then its right.

I've seen and heard of people kicking suboxone, vicodins, and all manner of other opiates by using kratom. I'm not endorsing it, I don't have a company that sells kratom. You can google kratom and see what others have to say, It is still sold as it is legal in the US. As to the dangers I'm not too sure. I suppose there's dangers to everything right? Like say if I went and drank 12 cups of coffee today, would I be alright? Coffee is a drug but it's a socially accepted one, same with liquor and cigarettes. Isn't coffee addictive? I can't go a morning without one. How come that's ok? You see where I'm going with this?

But yes I totally agree with you that everyone does have to do their homework and figure out what's best for them. I know it might sound like a blasphemy endorsing a substance to help you but we do it all the time with anti depressants and not to mention suboxone which is probably the toughest opiate to kick,

Jeffii it might take a little longer for things to balance out. 8 years is a long time and your body got used to it. Going back to the coffee analogy. I've been probably drinking coffee for 10 years. If I quit tommorow how long do you think it would take my body to adjust? Probably a few weeks or something like that. And that's just coffee.

What were you taking the tramadol for? Where you taking it as prescribed? Tramadol is not an evil drug. It does help people by relieving pain and does give a mood boost but I know for me I was abusing it so I had to stop it. The sleeping part is tough, I can understand. Good job on getting rid of the xanax. That's like the last thing you want is an addiction to those little suckers.

Sometimes we want things to be fixed right away and i'll be honest it's not going to happen. We didn't get to where we are now overnight so it might take some time to get better. I think like others mentioned here already keep going to meetings and therapy might help too.

You say that your tired of feeling the way I do. I feel like that too sometimes more than some other days. The thing is at least being clean  you have an opportunity to get your old happy self back. With the drugs that's going to be hard or next to impossible to do.

I took Tramadol for 8yrs and at high doses, so now I'm scared that nothing will get me to feel well. That I have damage my brain chemistry for ever. I'm healthy and over the physical wds but I'm crying all the time and just feel like I can't control it, I can't sleep and have no Enery.  When I tapered I was able to sleep wit the help of xanax and Lunesta but since the physical part was over I got rid of them cause I didn't want to end up addicted to them.
I just want to get my old happy energetic self back. I don't know how much longer I can hang like this... I feel my will, spirit and body is tired.

I have heard nothing but bad things about Kratom!! IMO I would stay away from it. It can b very addictive. If ur having troubles with energy and depression use something tht isn't going to cause u to become addicted and WD... please PLEASE read all u can about it if u decide u want to use tht. It used to b sold but its not anymore bc of its dangers.... again do ur research!!!!!

I heard that Katrom comes in powder and that its hard to take the right dose. Its that true? Where do you get Katrom? I've heard a lot of people use it, I just don't know where to get it.

Well from what I understand some people get wds from kratom and some don't. I know myself personally I don't really. However I would imagine if someone where to take it everyday for a few weeks and stopped you would feel slightly uncomfortable. I know that it certainly doesn't make me high but makes things a little more tolerable. I just don't have that temptation to take insane amounts of kratom. That was never the case with tramadol or vicodin. I just wanted more and more. I think everything has a risk though. When you look at the side effects of the popular anti depressants I get pretty anxious about that. Idk if I did get addicted to kratom I highly doubt that I'll start pawning stuff to buy more if I run out of money, lol.

As to what kind of strain a good place to start is with Bali or Maeng Da. The trick is not to take alot and try not to take it every day. Unlike anti depressants you will feel the effects shortly. I'm not against anti depressants. I think for severely depressed people they can be a life saver but for people have that feeling of just plain old drudgery and dullness then something like kratom could help. Anyways if you need anymore into just pm me and I can point you in the right direction :)

Oh the other thing is maybe the anti depressants you're taking are not right for you? Have you discussed with your doctor? Sometimes it takes some experimenting to find the best one for you. I think depressed people are more prone to addiction when taking opiates because its like you take a pill and boom in 20 mins you feel happy for once but it is fleeting and we keep taking more and more.

I take Wellbutrin and Celexa and have been throughout entire opiate use, so I think I'm not going to feel better ever.

I was reading about Kratom, desperate, but doesn't it cause wds too? It's legal in the USA, but not everywhere. I got confused about all the strains, and decided not to get.
It really helps?

I know some ppl won't I agree with this but I've been using a natural herb called kratom to help with the depression. It's legal and you can order it online. I tried Prozac before and it made me feel not myself. Like I was outside of my body and watching myself. With the kratom I feel normal, have energy and a better mode. It can be addicting but aren't anti depressants as well. You just can't stop CT with anti depressants. I just get nervous taking drugs that change the way chemicals react and interact in our brain so wanted another option. But honestly I know that's not the answer its just to help for now. I think you're doing alot of good things that will help. It will come back in time, every day we feel a bit better but you're walking every day which is great too.

Hi there, I was actually considering buying SAM E as well but wasn't sure how effective it is. I also came off tramadol and vicodin and find the depression bothersome however SAM E is quite expensive over here. It's like $20 for an 18 day supply. I did buy some 5 htp and tried it a couple if days and a doctor did prescribe me Elavil at a low dose but I haven't taken it yet as I'm scared of AD. Natural sups are kinda tricky cause it's hard to know for sure if they're working. It never hurts to try though. Hope that info was useful too you.

There's another member here who was dependent on Tramadol and has been clean for over a year now. Anyway...she took St.Johns Wort and it was very effective for her. Also, in our health pages, look at the Amino Acid Protocol. It will help, as well.  Stick around!

I forgot all about SAMe. I took it prior opiates at some point. It really did help. But honestly not sure anything but time will help now.

But, if you take it, and think it helps, it will. You know mind tricks!!

It's actually prescription in some country's, so take as directed though! Good luck!

HAHA.   I know. Sometimes you have to check out several to find your place. Once that happens, I think you'll begin to feel better mentally.

Are you otherwise in good health?  You sound like you're taking good care of yourself...  Are you aware of the antidepressant qualities of Tramadol? Part of what you're feeling maybe because of that. After all the serotonin and norepinephrine boost you get from Tramadol, your chemicals may be off balance now. The SamE may help that but if it doesn't, you wouldn't be the first person to need a course of AD treatment.

I have gone to some meetings but I still haven't found my "home" group... the first one was an all womans group and most of the time they were talking about their relationships with their husbands or boyfriends...

Hi- It wouldn't hurt to try it assuming you're not already taking AD's...

Are you involved in any type of recovery care? Therapy, groups, meetings, support?  It might make a difference for you...it helps a lot of people.
