Hi there! I think you'll do fine. I read this as your doctor told you to drop one pill per month. That's a slow taper and should work fine for you so trust your doctor. I think that you'll barely have wd's this way.
Many members here have tapered off Tramadol so you'll get a lot of support here. Stay in touch!
THERE IS HOPE! I did a self -taper from 6 a day down to 2 - my current prescrption. My doctor was overjoyed when I told him this. I have not had cravings or insomnia or anything else - I feel FINE. I think with your taper, and contact with your doctor, you will have no problems at all. :)
Hi!! Yes, there is hope for you!! I've been clean 6 years off a 3000 mg a day addiction (not a typo), I too used for several years. I'm glad your dr is willing to taper you, but a month doesn't seem long enough, IMO. I had no choice but to do it cold turkey, my dr was not very understanding to say the least. In my experience, my physical wds eased up at around day 30. It's the mental withdrawals that will last the longest, it usually takes 6 months to 2 years before you feel "right " again. Sorry, I'm not trying to scare you, I just want you to know what to expect.
Even with tapering, your still gonna have withdrawal symptoms, there's just no avoiding that. You'll have flu like symptoms. Get lots of Gatorade, Imodium, and maybe something all natural to aid in your sleep. Try to stay hydrated, and eat a little something to, even if you don't feel like it. The sweats, anxiety, and lack of sleep are the worst. This will be a rough ride, but you can do this!!!! Everything will pass and you will be you again before you know it!! I wish you well, good luck!!!
I'm not sure what to say ... but taking anything for 20 years even pepsi would be a huge hit for your body I would hope the dr would have had more to say than taper down for a month??
