Oops phone and shaking today. Very very shakey and cold. Anyways you have think different. Know this a disease. Not a simple thing to addmit or go thru. But people do get over the hump. Im not over it yet. Bit by bit im getting better. Dig deep my friend and ask yourself this.... Isnt your life worth a lifestyle change for the better? Sending encoragement
This is a lifestyle change not a new years resolution. It will.start off with the best intentions and slowly fade away. Look.at your history. I have had that same talk.for years. You have
1st of all DONT MAKE THIS YOUR RESOLUTION.I way that because95%+people dont get past february w/there resolution.U need an aftercare.Thats where u and so many many relapse because u dont mantain a support system.I c an addiction specialist2times a month+go2group therapy. But thats what works for me.Ive heard NA is great.U need to make this ur#1priority right now.Making. total lifestyle change.
There is no shame in addiction. It is not something you asked for aspired to be. But it happens and it takes no prisoners.
I agree that all areas need to be addressed. My suggestion is to do them one at a time and not overwhelm yourself.
Change takes time and getting well takes time. You made the time to be sick, now make the time to get well. One step at a time...
I am extremely obsessive compulsive. Since I smoked my first cigarette as a kid, I have denied any addiction or inability to quit. I've always been ashamed of my vices, but unable (or unwilling) to change. Whether it be tobacco, alcohol, marijuana, cocaine, pk's - even other vices such as gambling and poor eating. I think the change needs to be made in all areas of my life. I need to correct this compulsive behavior and fiully grasp how much I have to lose.
Hi,
It doesn't seem you need any help with stopping. You need help with staying stopped. If you have been doing this on New Year's 3 years in a row, what will you do different this time?
