pain relief Percocet

I have been off Percocet since Apr except when another stupid new injury arises. I was never addicted just physically addicted!  My latest injury is slip disc herniated disc and degenerative disc all in low back. Its with some type of compression nerves and muscles.   Anyway my question is ER gave me flexiral for spasms and 30 5mg of Percocet. I only will take them as needed or as prescribed. Will this amount cause me have withdrawal again. Original i was extremely naive. I never want with as long as i live. So will my body become dependent again?

Hi, I'm a little confused. You said that you have been off Percocet since April except when another injury arises? When was the last time you took Percocet or any other Opiate before now? Also, you said that you were never addicted just physically addicted? I don't understand that. I'm sorry I don't really know your background. How much Percocet are you currently taking per day?

It is possible that you will have withdrawal symptoms when you quit taking Percocet. Even if it is for short period of time that you take it. Our bodies and minds have long memories.  I had been clean for about a year from taking Roxicodone, when I broke my leg and had to have surgery. I had to take pain pills for a little while. I was not taking Roxicodone, but something much milder. I was able to taper down before I quit, and I still experienced some mild withdrawal symptoms for about a week or two.  You may not have them as severe as before, but I would be prepared in case.

Take care, I hope you feel better soon.
