Sort of a wierd question about detox

Well I have three days left until I finally quit the pills once and for all an begin my "hotel detox" this Sunday.  My question may seem a little wierd but please here me out.

I have an enlarged prostate and frequent the bathroom at night about 3-5 times a night, now that's only if I stop taking the vitamin Saw Palmetto daily, which I have not been doing in the past week or so mainly from being too lazy to restock on the vitamins.  When I do take the Saw Palmetto however, I typically find myself going to the bathroom only about once or not at all each night.

So I was wondering if I should hold off on the Saw Palmetto during the week of withdrawal, only because urination is vital to detox and I figure the more trips to the bathroom the better?  I hope I'm not being too cynical here, but I thought it was worth considering.  I know I should be asking a doctor but I've changed insurance plans and have yet to choose a primary doctor for myself.

Also, have any of you experience a sense of retaining water when taking pain pills?  My DOC has now been oxycontin, but before it was norco/vicodin.  I feel like since I'm on oxycontin, I'm drinking alot of fluids during the day and retaining a large amount of it. Hence the frequent urination at night.

Well I came home yesterday.  I checked out early and wasted some money but oh well.  I did get homesick and wanted to get a few things done at the house.  I feel alot better today.  Day 3.  I'm going to be ok, I ran on the treadmill and did some pullups.  It passes time and really does feel great.  Not to mention driving with the music on :)

Glad you made in through check in.. Its all downhill from here.. In a good way though, that didn't sound right. Lol
Bored is a killer, keep busy.. as for the vitamins, I would just take them as it says to on the bottle.. less complicated that way.  :)
Hope your doing fine..

Thanks for the reply, I didn't think I was going to get a reply since my post ended up on the 2nd page or so.

Anyways, I'm here at the hotel.  I started getting a little anxiety checking in but once I became situated, I started to relax.  They gave me a room with a king and two queen beds lol. I felt like Goldilocks n the 3 bears... I have a fridge and a microwave and the tv was not locked so I was able to connect an extra laptop to it so I can have my netflix lol.

Ok besides all that.  Its 25hrs since I took the last half 80mg oxycontin pill.  I have not taken the saw palmetto and have been going to bathroom constantly and even for small amounts of urine.  It's a little frustrating getting up everytime each night to go to the bathroom but I know it gives me exercise at least.

I have a whole slew of vitamins and I do have a question. 5htp has helped me in the past, but this time I have DLPA, L-tyrosine, L-theanine, Valerian Root, and St. Johns Wart.  Could someone tell me how I should be taking these if I begin to feel anxiety or depression?  Last night I took 5htp and L-tyrosine with a B6 and it helped with my breathing.

I feel ok today, thank god I don't have to be anywhere or do anything, it is a little boring though. Thank god for this site too :)

not long til your hotel stay now, well i wouldnt take the saw until i had detoxed, so you know you will be totally clear, and also what symptoms you have to deal with. i know its quite a plant thing, but you can start it gain after your detox. just my opinion, take care.

I think I would hold off on the Saw Palmetto.. I agree with you about needing to get it out, peeing sweating or whatever.. I took hot hot baths.. we have a ****** water heater so I acutally boiled water pot by pot.. Lol, seems silly but if anything it kept me busy.
I looked you up after I posted on the "food while detox" question .. because I recently started taking 5-HTP .. says it "promotes a calm and relaxed mind."
"5-HTP is a precursor to serotonin, a neurotransmitter involved in sending messages through the nervous system."  Thats right off the bottle. I started taking it Wednesday night.. and already these past two days have been significantly different then the previous. It has Valerian root, b-6 and niacin in it .. I just feel more like this are going to be okay.  Its cut the anxiety down to a tolerable level.  I am sure it is from the Valerian root.  Better that then another pharmaceutical I saw..
We're coming up on the weekend.  You will be in my thoughts over the weekend.. please give an up-date when you can.
