my experience from WD's

I just wanted to give an accounting of what happened to me to any one who wants to stop there addiction. Its not as bad as you think it will be.

Background: Young, average shape never gone through withdrawals before, was using for approximately 7 months with the high dosage of  between 18 and 22  hydrocodone 10/325 in the last 2 months.

suplies neurontin,klonopin,ibuprofen,hot baths,

I stopped taking my dosage of between 18 and 22  hydrocoden 10/325 at 1pm on Christmas eve day. at 1 pm I took 4 hydrocodone pills.

Hours :1(pm) on 12-24-08 took 4 10 mg pills
Hours 1 through 6(pm) High
Hours 6 through 11(PM) I was OK
Hour 11pm started having a little anxiety and i was irritable but it was managble

Hours 12 through 1 extreme anxiety and mild body aches, Started the Thomas recipe, took 2 1 mg klonopin (don't take this much if you don't take it regularly without talking to a doctor, I have to use it any way for anxiety)

hours 1 through 8 awful, I put on 2 pairs of sweats 2 pairs of sweaters 2 shirts and 2 boxer shorts with heavy wool blankets over me.  felt like I had the bird flu, sick, cold runny eyes some slight sneezing extreme leg and body pains. I was in and out of consciousness and my wife said she thought I was having seizures because i was kicking and screaming in my sleep.  then took the hottest bath I could stand to take. This helped tremendously  and felt wonderful for just a few minutes but I still felt awful.

12-25-08(start of day 2) hours 8 am to 11 am in and out of consciousness, couldn't seem to get warm couldn't really talk coherently, was dizzy and in a lot of pain,It was very difficult to walk,I took a shower and managed to get to my relatives house for "christmas", told them I Had the "flu" they had a bed with about 10 sheets ready, I turned of the lights took 2 klonopin 4 ibprfoen and 300mg neurontin and went unconscious

12 pm untill 5 pm asleep the whole time freezing cold and sweating at the same time drank some water, and passed out.

5pm woke up in extreme pain, took 2 klonopin 4 ibprfoen and 300mg neurontin and went unconscious, kicking and screaming in my sleep again, sweating stomach pains,

5pm until 11 pm slept managed to somehow get home.

11 pm until 3 am, awfull sweats at home, in tremendous pain and couldn't seem to get my legs to stop hurting, kept feeling like i needed to stretch. took 2 klonopin 4 ibuprofen and 300mg neurontin and went unconscious

3 am untill 10 am in and out of sleep, forced some oatmeal and water down my throat. basically i would sleep for three hours drink water and fall back asleep( but it wasn't like sleeping it was like passing out.)

10 am(start of day 3)  12-26-08 the worst was over, every hour i felt better and better i could speak clearly and walk although i was extremely dizzy. I  woke up felt like **** but not as bad as before, more just like the common cold crappy and not bird flu crappy. I just felt bad but it was manageable  I took 2 klonopin 4 ibuprofen and 300mg neurontin and feel asleep and did this through out the day, not feeling nearly as bad as before and just needing lots of rest. I was able to sleep throughout the night, took a a couple baths when I did  wake up. I cried the entire day for some reason, and had lots of old memories come into my head. Just very emotional in general.

day 4, was able to go on a walk feeling better but still  sick feeling. I am extremely tired  if i do go do do mething but i feel ok, just have some muscle aches and body aches. Hopefully tomorrow i will be all better, Over all i have lost about 6 pounds because i cant really eat yet, Just chicken broth with potatoes. I am at about hour 80 now

So all that want to quit, just do it, It ***** for about 48 hours and then it ***** less. I know if i can do it you can do it. Just tell your selff " I am going to get the flu" and go for it. for me it seems like it hit me fast and hard and then subsided. It didn't linger on and on and on. I am still not better but i feel ok.

Pleasehelpme,
You are very lucky and seem to have experienced the "express withdrawals". lol
For me, the last time I went thru withdrawals, it was a gradual build up to day 3 & 4 being the worst, with no real sleep for about 6 days, and then it came in short, disturbed lengths. When I wasn't rolling around on the bed in absolute misery, I was in the bathroom. There was no way I could have made it out the door, to go anywhere, those first 5 days. Same with the old memories and crying, the RLS was torture. Couldn't eat or drink. The worst of mine started to subside around day 5, but the lack of sleep, RLS and bathroom trips, continued well into the 2nd week. My first trip outside was around day 8, to an NA meeting, panic attack, thought I was having a heart attack. Day 10 , company for the weekend...bad idea...was not ready. Day 16 or 18 first time going out to see clients...ruff but doable. I have a major problem getting enough fluids in me, which probably caused me more problems.
My first set of withdrawals, was more like yours.
It seems that each time you go thru withdrawals, relapse and go thru withdrawals again, they get worse. So keep this in mind. If you think it was bad the first time, you don't want to experience the 4th or 5th withdrawal session. (Sadly enough, I gave up on going thru withdrawals and am currently on Sub).
Less time using makes a big difference in withdrawals too.
Anyone going thru withdrawals or getting ready to: Plenty of fluids, exercise and the Thomas recipe & Amino Acid Protocol , should get you thru it a little faster and easier.
Please stay strong and make this the only withdrawal session you ever need to go thru.
Hang in there and Big Congrats to you! You can do it!
P.S.  This forum was really the biggest help of all.
