Tappering

I have been snorting pills for about 3 years, hydrocodone, percocet, any pain killer really also have been smoking oxycotin. If i have been only snorting them. When i start tappering off of them if i took them rather than snort would that be the same as reducing how much i take a day? Or should i try and reduce and just take them normally? How should i tapper?

I already stopped smoking oxy and ive avoided it completly. But i dont just take them. Or i havent just taked them in over two years ive only snorted them. Which i know if i tapper i cant snort  them cause ill do it just as much as i do now.

I agree with minn & have someone hold them while you taper down if that's what you end up doing. I too had to do that as I know I would have taken a lot more. I didn't do c/t but I know people successfully did. I know also coming on this forum daily really helped me so much. Everyone's support is amazing.

I didn't snort anything, but I can say that if I had the pills I would take them, so tapering wasn't for me. There are people here who have successfully tapered. It takes a lot of discipline and it helps if you have someone who can hold the meds for you.

Whichever way you choose to quit, we will be here to support and help you through.

If it were me, I would taper by eating the pills and get away from the snorting and smoking.  WD from snorting opiates is far worse than it is from eating them.  I speak from experience.  Yes a girl who snorted pain meds...go figure right! =)

i really cant tell ya on this site how to taper but some say it's an easier way to go some like me go c/t cause we just do all the pills and oh yes if your going to taper i think i'd stick to just eating them for i too used to snort them i think tooooo intence to snort them during a taper
