Strength, Hope and Experience

Hey my fellow brothers and sisters in addiction. I just wanted to let you know that you can make it if you truly desire to. The only thing you really have to do is never give up on yourself, even if others give up on you. I've just passed the 17 month milestone. It does get easier with time. I still think about getting high, I just recognize the signs better now.

I was in active addiction for 23 years, really hard active addiction for the last 3 of the 23 years. I'm a convicted felon of a possession charge. I got involved in NA because the courts made me. I've learned that if I dont put into my body and I do the next right thing, I'm gonna be ok. If you're not sure what that is, call someone that you can talk to. NA is working for me. If you dont find it works for you, DON'T GIVE UP! I've been through the ringer with this disease, you've not done anything I've not done. WE all have done these things, the good, the bad and the ugly. YOU ARE NOT ALONE! I'm here for you. As we all are.

Since I surrendered to the fact that I have the disease of addiction. I've gained knowledge to fight my disease. I'm healthy, although my thinking is still off sometimes. I just keep doing the next right thing and living life on lifes terms and it's getting better all the time. I got 2 years probation for my drug charge. That works with me, seeing how I've been to jail 17 times in the last 4 years..lol

Keep working on yourself, dont give up, if you need an ear, PM me, I'll listen.

Peace and Love in your life,

Carrie
