I quit 16 mg of Suboxone .The first 5 days were challenging, but nothing compares to the hellish aluminum foil heroin withdrawal,or Opana.I used few Ativan and Valium , some red ball Kratom for the first time.I also took immodium .Trust me it is more mental, you will feel leg restless, but it is a joke comparing with real withdrawal l.This people that compare Suboxone with full opiates, are completely subjective.I also quit few years ago 2 mg.If you pass the fifth day,you will be fine.Dont think to much,do a lot of hot bath and take gaba and L theanine ,magnesium and kava kava. You also can use for few days , blue bird poppy seed tea just for sleep.I am completely shock how minor the withdrawal are, especially with minor doses of Kratom.I been eating non stop.I been two years on 16mg.The first time i was in subutex and taper to 2 mg and junp.I never experienced the hellish withdrawal that this people are talking. Most of them dont even know what precipitated withdrawal are, since they couldnt quit a mild hobby of 60 mg of hydro,or even 120 mg of Oxy is low, comparing with 400mg a day withdrawal. They started the suboxone to defeat a mild  dose ,which i dont judge by the way.20 norco a day is nothing, once suboxone increase your tolerance.Only opana 40 or Fentanyl can make you feel something even after you quit suboxone.Dont listen to this people talking about hellish conditions. It is not true,i have quit 16 mg and besides the restless leg and feeling sentimental, is way more easy than full opiates.I wish you all luck.I swear to the most dearly thing in life, that 99% percent of the people exaggerate the pain level. They been so long in Suboxone, they forgot what real pain is.Will a person that has snake crawling in his skin or is possessed by demon pain,be able to describe in “detail” their ”pain” jorney.People on Heroin,Metadon, opana withdrawal can barely leave the bad, never mind writing  harangue on placebo pains.Shame on people that try to scare .I am sorry for the grammatical errors.

It can be done, I went ct off 8mg of Sub was on it for three months, 10 days of torture. Relapsed after 23 days clean. After a few more months of 20 norco's a day! Back on Sub tapered for 2 months down to 2mg every third day, 3rd night RLS was crazy, I couldn't deal always broke down and took more Sub. Finally went back on Hydro tapered very Quickly yes i suffered during tapering, but I did it ! Last Hydro was Fri. 6pm I'm at day 6 and Feel OK maybe 70% but getting there. Sat and Sun was torture I won't lie. Now I do not reccomend this approach, but I wanted out and this worked for me. Sub allowed me to function, but is very phyisically addictive at least it was for me. 1 year is a long time on Suboxone its sticky with a half life and really hangs in there. Go down to 2mg every other day then 2mg every third day then go CT, some people come off it very easily. Keep us Posted.

I just stopped Sub after a 2mg a day for almost a month. And the w.d was about 4-5 days, all the same symptoms but not as strong. The RLS was a little bad though and I am still tired and weak, but each day gets better. I think the longer you are on it the worse, obviously...

Sorry, hope this helps...

Hey there. Welcome. On the left side on the page is a section called Health Pages. THere is a 2 part section on Sub. In there is a taper and info on getting off of it. You can do this with the right info and support.

XOXO

No. There isn't any 2 part section on Sub. if so, WHERE THE HECK IS IT?????????
Sprawl......the comment you are responding to is 10 years old when this forum actually did have "Health Pages".  They no longer exist.  There have been ownership changes of MedHelp since 2008 and they evidently decided to remove the Health Pages.  Hope that helps you~
