can you quit Norco on your own?

Hello everyone -
My daughter has been taking prescribed Norco for over 3 years.  Can someone break the addiction on their own without seizures, rehab.  Any advice?  Any tips for detox?  I put my first one through rehab for Methadone - this is my only other second one and I am broke and brokenhearted.  She is of age so I can't force her into anything...but she says she hates having to take them all the time, tries to cut down and is sick....I am just reaching...any help out there?
My prayers go out for us all....and to all of you fighting - keep on - and my love.....

Yes she can do this at home. It won't be easy , but it is very doable. She will feel like she has a very bad flu for  7-10 days. After that she might have some depression and lack of energy for a few months. The hardest part is the cravings after she detoxes . She will need a lot of support and will do best with some sort of therapy- AA type would help. Keep reading and posting. You will get a great education on addiction here.

Hi justamon..welcome to the forum.. your daughters norco are prescribed.. how many does she take a day.. I was on norco and a few other pain meds for 4 years and detoxed at home.. with the help of her Dr. she could get meds that would help to minimize wd symptoms.. it your daughter is wanting to quit.. really wanting to quit. as you know we really have to want it for ourselves to get clean..We have many family members here whose children are addicted.. You came to the right place for advice and support :) Glad to hear your other daughter went through rehab.. methadone is a long arduous journey.. depending how many a day norco would last about 4 to 5 days as the worst then you begin to feel better every day.. by day ten most physical syptoms will have ease.. really depends on the person and the amount taken.. she has been on them a long time none the less.. Keep reading the form as knowledge is key.. ask questions.. you can pick up many tips to make wd bearable.. also many others going through wd from norcos.. I'm sure more will be along with comments.. I wish you and your daughters well .. lesa
