THIS IS NO JOKE: If you're on Subutex, Methadone or Suboxone, GET OFF NOW!!!!!!!!

how come no doctors really know what the long term side effects and the many actual DAMAGEs to the body subutex does?? I stayed on it for about 10 years and it was the most HORRIFIC detox that I almost died. I encourage EVERYONE to (if you're already on it)-GET OFF OF IT, or you're just gonna make the detox harder and harder with time...and if you're thinking about getting PUT on it, THINK AGAIN!!!!! I would LOVE to go around EDUCATING DOCTORS about how HORRIBLE this medication is. I am about to face the dentist in an hour and am MORTIFIED to do so because I have METH-MOUTH. (funny thing is, I NEVER DID METH!!). It's ALL FROM SUBUTEX and how it just sits in your bones and builds up over time and seems to EAT away your bone marrow and rapes your body of calcium. And the refuse of medication that just sits rotting your bones makes a later "appearance" in the show whenever it is you decide to detox. That's when it comes PURGING out of every single pore of your body as well as through your TEETH!! (just like the bones in your body). It has been FOUR MONTHS and my body STILL aches UNIMAGINABLY, I am in a constant state of Incredibly INTENSE anxiety, frustration and impatience. I don't wanna EVER get out of bed and face the world, even though I Must...Feels like groundhog day because it never changes. I wake up everyday in intense agony. And all over my body my skin has broken out in "PLAGUE-like" Acne-some places CYSTIC. (my body is detoxifying from the outside in) I don't WANNA leave my house because I feel like a monster. like I'm CURSED. This medication is THE DEVIL. It NEVER WANTS U OFF OF IT, it grabs ahold of your SOUL and never EVER lets go. (until you get FORCED to(the law/jail)or you just get so SICK of taking a godamm PILL every morning just to feel like the rest of the human race does when they wake up. It is hell on Earth, and you are absolutely INSANE if you stay on this med after reading this!!! THIS IS NO JOKE!!!! Email me if you want me to GO ON even!! ***@****

I have been using suboxone for roughly 16 months I decided to switch after research from morphine to suboxone I'm prescribed it for pain however and it works great with the opiates I felt withdrawn and unmotivated.   It basicly gives my back and leg a numbing effect as I have permanent back and nerve damage from a collision.  That I do hope to come off it at some point but the withdrawal from all the opiates and I was taking 240 mg. Of it a day and if just curbed the pain, but I do hope one day to be free of all of them.

Please heed our warning. Ive had 7 major neck and lower back surgeries. Talk about scar tissue, damaged nerves, numbness and resurfaced sciatica. Im feeling you. I was on Suboxone for almost 3 years( thought it was 2) after leaving a nearly 4oo/mg/dau oxy habit. They didnt believe me at the clinic, in fact. I was challenged by a counselor regarding my dosage. She apologized in the next group after reading my records. I was on Fentanyl patches for quite a while too, trying to reduce oxy intake. All per doctors orders.
I had a real mofo of a time getting off of suboxone, it took 3 months to feel OK. Another accident, bad one at work, resulting in more oxy...I was convinced GOD had forsaken me. Then onto the Methadone Treatment Program. 6 years at 150mg/day. I titrated to 34mg and quit.
After about 2 weeks I ended up in the hospital. Spent 4 days. Longer than most of my surgeries....its been 2 solid months. I can describe in horrifying detail Satan and his Seventh Circle of HELL!! Permeates itself into tissue, fat deposits, and similar to Suboxone, into your bones. Im only able to walk to the kitchen from the bedroom just this week. You dont want this. Work out an exit plan NOW! PLEASE.

Hey Cindy—10+years on and off subs here. How are you doing? I’d like to speak more with you. I think, as women on long term subs, we can talk.

Actually, Subs have kept me productive and out of trouble with the law. I'm sorry your experience was so horrible with them, but is it really the only bad thing you've put into your body? I take ONLY (and I mean) ONLY my Subs and work my program. I do NOT take any other crap other than coffee and antacids. I've never had a problem and decades ago I got in all kinds of trouble because docs gave me off label meds...I was not harming anyone but the state wasted lots of money on me and stole half my life. I WELCOME SUBS and I think they can be good for those who will use them properly.

My own experience with subs has been life saving and I hope if I take it slowly day by day I can be rid of them.
God bless all and hang in there. Understanding is the key to getting help and receiving it.
Cheers.

BTW, I started at a "low" dose...as low as possible to keep me out of trouble. 6mg/day to start. I think some people could start even lower. This drug can do lots of good but it depends on how it is used. I quit METHADONE years ago before...I can do this and I thank God that I have the option.

I was really thinking about calling my Doc and using this option to help me ease my withdrawal symptoms but thank you so much for this advice. I see I must face this cold turkey. And hopefully get through it and come out tougher than I was before and never think to pick up any pain killer in the future

Hi. There's a lot of drama here that's typical from addicts. The "devil" is not in a drug any more than it's in a thumbtack. I've seen people in NA quit subs successfully after slowly tapering and doing a serious job of it. If you are a long term pill addict (or worse) than Subs can be a way out of a serious habit that can get you trouble. If you just had a short addiction to pills then maybe you can do without. IF YOU DO GO TO USE SUBS find a good doctor that listens to you. They'll likely start you at 8mg/day. If it hits you too hard, ask for 6mg or 4mg or even 2 a day until you feel "normal" and sleep ok but not clouded. Then work a program to go down nice and slow. Take as prescribed! Just ONCE a day and then after you get stable on them come up with a taper plan.

It really depends on what you need. Lots of people curse subs. But I think either the subs were no good for them (we're all different) or they didn't really use them in the correct way.

Hey Cindy,
This is Mary. I have been on subs for 10 years too (after an intense 6 years on 500-600mgs of OC/day. It took me a year to come off of the subs. My husband was on it for the same amount of time and tried to quit with me for a year. We felt SICK the entire year. We both lost our minds, drank alcohol to replace and numb out even though we have never been drinkers. We both now have 5-6 ARRESTS from DUIs, PIs, etc because we were totally out of our minds sick for 12 months! It was JUST LIKE GROUNDHOG DAY! Funny you stated it that way because that’s the EXACT way it is. IT NEVER GETS BETTER. Day after Day after Day...you NEVER WANT TO GET OUT OF BED. We were never warned by our doctors that put us on subs. I cold turkey DT’d off of the 500-600 msg of OC that I was on everyday for 6 years straight. It was violent and horrible as expected, BUT it *ended* after 7-10 days! I was weak then, but recovered. Subs are the DEVIL. Holla at me, I’d like to talk to you. My email is: ***@****

It's too bad these legal options or so long lasting. If it was legal doctors could easily just taper you off OCs with some supervision and yes it'd be tough but not impossible to get past the physical pain at least. I personally have no problem with subs and they provided a great way out for me.
