Thanks to this forum - 30 Days Clean
I just want to thank everyone here for helping me get clean. I just registered here today, but I've been lurking for over a month. Today is my 30th day clean. For 12 years, I've been taking just about any opiate I could get my hands on - mostly 10mg vics 8-10x a day. This all began innocently enough.. I was injured in an accident and for about 3 years, I had a legit need for the meds. When the doctor cut me off, I got them off the street.
If you are reading this and thinking about quitting, do it. The first week is rough, but it gets better each day. The best part of it all is knowing you will never have to get pills again. The cycle of looking at your stash, seeing 6-7 pills and knowing you need to find more... and you need money or a story for the doctor.. or a friend to borrow pills from.. It is over. You are free. It is a great feeling. Better than any buzz from the pills.
You can do it. You can do it today.

congrats on 30 days. thats a huge accomplishment...im only going on 3 and i am happy for that...except the torture of w/d i am having...i have been hoggin the bathroom. thankfully there is 3 in my house...lol
Thanks for saying what I needed to hear...this is my 2nd attempt to get off the same DOC as yours...yesterday was my last vic. I quit 10 days back in August and here I am in the same boat. I want to quit so bad and I'm sick of the garbage that I've made of my life. 10 years on this ****. Today has to be the start! Weak and then strong back and forth. I just want to be over with it all. Please think of me and I'll keep checking in.
hello, congrats on your 30 days, i too joined this forum on my 30th day clean, and haven't looked back day 53 for me. you are right, getting clean is the ultimate buzz, no doubt. we don't realize how messed up and ill we really are during our use, but once our minds return, its like an awakening. im proud of you for doing this, it only gets better from here.
Great job on 30 days. This forum has helped me also. 12 yrs on morphine and vico. Now on day 11 c/t and feeling pretty good.
