The new girl here

Hi and thank you for reading this if you do , I am hooked on Norco 10/325 taking a bottle of 50 in about 4 days , It is supposed to last for 7! I want off but at the same time have gotten so used to living on them that im scared that I dont know how to live clean, Is there anything that I can do to make the detox easier ? or anything that you have found helps? Im going to get them refilled this week and after that im done so we have a week to get ready ,,,,

Thank you

Welcome!! Great to hear that you want to stop and of course you are scared. I think we were all scared too!! There are ways to detox easier, yes, but first, are you wanting to stop cold turkey or do you want to taper off from them?

If you want to taper, you can use your refill to do that, let me know. If you want to stop cold turkey, let me know that as well. How long have you been taking them and what do you do for the 3 days until you can get a refill? Are you buying them off the street or do you go without for those 3 days? Sorry but all this info. will help determine the best option for you in stopping! Thanks.

Keep in mind that you cant close the door on your addiction simply by not using, once you are detoxed its always helpful to get to the core of the reasons why you were using to begin with, by getting into some kinda support group NA or AA is something that shines a whole new light on a persons addiction, it can help a person only if they want & desire help, it has me, as I spent many years living with my addictive personality & I am finally begining to understand what got me from A to B. I also recomend that if you can, to taper down as low as possible before you go cold turkey, I tried this many times in the past with oxys & couldnt do it, as I always found myself justifying taking more, as addicts its hard for us to control our wants & needs, so if you could find a responsible person to help with your taper that would be helpful.  Take Care Penelope

Welcome to the forum. I was able to taper once and I didn't have to bad of withdrawals. The thing about tapering is it takes a lot of willpower. Usually if the pills are there we take them. Just get a good taper plan and stick to it. It would help if you had anyone to hold on to the pills for you and give them to you as needed. Another thing that helps so much is exercise. I didn't do anything too strenuous, just some long walks. It makes such a huge difference! Also, be sure to drink plenty of water to help flush the system. You have taken the first step to getting off these pills. You have to want to and you do! Just get a plan together, stay strong, and this will be in the past before you know it! If you need anything, don't hesitate to ask. This is a wonderful forum and everyone is so helpful! I know I couldn't have done it with everyone on here. This is a great place for aftercare too. Hang in there and best of luck!

Welcome to the forum. I tapered off vics...you will still have wds, but they will be minimal compared to ct.....Get all your supplies together and get started... the good thing about a taper is you can still work , do whatever w/ you kids, do all your activites, but the bad thing is you are in some form of wd for a longer period of time....it's easier on your body, I think...but again...a long, slow burn......but i would do it again!!!

So Good luck and keep posting...we're here for you... YOU CAN DO THIS!!!
