Tramadol for hydrocodone withdrawal

I began my detox from hydrocodone today. I have neuropathy and that makes detox even harder because the pain is excruciating. I have some 50mg Tramadol and I was just wondering if I can take a few of those each day during withdrawals or will it just prolong the process? I figured if I took them for only a week then I should have the Lortab out of my system by then. Any insight would be appreciated.

Tramadol is a nightmare that you should avoid at all costs! It's a drug that is commonly prescribed to old dogs and I witnessed a neighbor get hooked on his dogs medication. His dog died in excruciating pain while he was high on the dogs Tramadols. It's a horribly addictive drug and getting off of it is worse than Vicodin or Oxys. Please, leave it alone.

What if I only use them  until the hydrocodone is out of my system? I don't plan on taking them long term, I only have enough to last me about 5 days so I wouldn't be getting addicted to them. They do not give me a euphoric feeling and I have no issues taking them as prescribed. They just help subside the pain a little. I have a 2 year old so I have to be able to be functional enough to care for him. I'm also doing the Thomas recipe minus the large amount of bentos. I'm prescribed Klonopin so I'm just taking it as prescribed.

Hello and welcome. I'm sorry I don't know how your comment was missed. I don't personally have any experience with tramadol, but I have seen a lot of others on here tell everyone not to take trams to help with other withdrawals because they also cause withdrawal and it's sometimes worse then if you just went off the hydrocodone ct. Good luck to you and I'm sure someone else will come along and offer advice :)
