Tramadol

So for those of you that dont know me I used to have a very bad norco habit and I cleaned up.  I have a best friend who lives with me that has been battling her own demons -- tramadol and heroin.  I was doing so well but I relapsed this weekend and used both of those drugs with her.  Anyway, the worst part is that I hada seizure at work and had to be taken to the hospital. It was so embarrasing.  Everyone saw me and I bit my tongue really bad and peed my pants when I had the seizure.
I just want to tell all of you that are thinking about taking tramadol how bad it is.  The doctor says it is definitely from the tramadol and that she has never seen a patient have a seizure from stopping trams only from doing them.  She says she sees it quite a lot.  So, I am recuping at home but it was very scary.  Thanks for letting me post.

thank you for your responses.  I feel fine now but it was the scariest thing Ive ever been through.  I think it really scared the people at my work too who saw me.  They keep calling and emailing and texting me. Anyway, I feel much better and I think it was the wake up call I needed.  Thank you Sara & addict for your words

Thanks! That was a LONG time ago, but it still feels like yesterday. I never felt anything off Tram but I was bound and determined to try and look where it got me! I just hope others learn from our mistakes with pills so they don't have to go through what a lot of us have went through!

I took Tramadol (3 of them) while in active addiction (Norco) and something bad happened to me. Still not sure what it was, but I was on the phone with my mom (at work) and the next thing I know I'm getting up from the floor. The phone was dangling from my desk, with my mom screaming into it on the other end. I had a knot on my head and I don't remember any of our conversation at all and barely remember anything after I picked myself off the floor. I have NEVER touched that **** since, and when I told my mom what happened, she got rid of the trams she had (my mom is not an addict in case you were wondering..LOL!).

Anyway, I'm sorry to hear about the relapse and the trip to the hospital. You are in the right place and talking about it can only benefit your future sobriety. Hopefully your roommate will get the help she needs and you both can lean on each other for support. Try not to let her influence you if she refuses to quit though! And if push comes to shove, maybe an ultimatum is in order. Good luck and keep us posted!

thank you all.  craig - I know you are right and I need to get her out of my life because she is trouble.  I guess this was the wake up call I needed.  I feel ridiculous because everyone at work is saying "was she on something?", etc.. I feel like they are all talking about me

She may have never seen it but we have a had a few here that have seized while coming off of tram. One of the members was in WD and had a seizure in the middle of thanksgiving dinner so it happens.Tramadol is nothing to play around with .Heroin is even worse .What recovery care are you getting.
