Working my taper so far so good

Been tapering down my dose for a week now started at 100 mg per day dropped to 60 mg a day. Today went to 52.5 mg so far so good. I take three times a day and the last 1 to two hrs between doses is tuff but bearable. I plan to spread this out for 5 weeks. I would like any suggestions that may help me keep this a succesfull journey. Will withdrawl symtoms increase or stay the same. At the end when I go with no pills at all will I have all the bad withdrawl symtons still ahead of me just less or what ? My last dose should be 2.5 mg

Thank You for your advice I must say everyone here is so compasionate and willing to help. I think it should be mandatory for people to have to read the stories here before they can have a prescription. Because reading the horror stories people here call there lives Im sure would save at least a few from taking that first step. It must be something in my make up I was addicted to nicatine, then gambling and of course food and that will be the next hurdle to cross after i get this beat     thank you  again

Aha. Because of the mg you were talking about, it sounded like Methadone. It doesn't matter, withdrawal is withdrawal.

I have gone thru detox off of Lortab and I found the process was the same when I tapered as when I went ct, but that was my experience. You may be different and since you have already started and seem to be doing well, then I suggest that you keep at it. I still have to suggest that you spread out the doses. If you are taking it only 3 times a day, you are spiking your dose and you WILL begin to feel that as you go down.

Again, keep up the good work.

I don't know your story but I am guessing you are tapering from Methadone?

If so you are doing a great job from something that is very difficult to do.

You will have withdrawal symptoms no matter how far down you go but they will ease a bit because of the taper. there is good and bad about tapers. During the taper process you will begin to feel the symptoms as you go down and once you jump off, you will feel it as well. Usually it will last about a week. With the ct method you feel it all at once and it lasts also about a week. So you have to decide if you want to do it all at once or slowly. Am I making an sense?

Another good thing to do during a taper is the spread the doses out as much as you can. Take a dose less but take it more often. That way you are not spiking your dose.

Are you doing this under a doctor's care? I hope you are so he/she can monitor you along the way.

I am glad you are feeling pretty good at this point. Keep up the good work and as you go along ask questions. I will keep you in my prayers.
