telling doctor about a patients abuse

if you tell a doctor one of their patients is abusing their pain pill script, what happens? will the doctor mention your name and what was said to the patient?

Hello and welcome. There is a patient-doctor confidentiality clause. I did call my husbands doctor when I knew he was using. I told the doctor he didn't have to say anything to me I just wanted him to listen to what I had to say. I told him that my husband is an addict.  I asked him to please not prescribe my husband any medications that he can abuse. That will run from Xanax to pain pills to cough medicine with codeine he thanked me for the call.
