Valium Addiction

I have been in the process of weaning off of Valium for just under a year. It has been so long because I started at a very high dose of Xanax and was crossed over to Valium using Dr. Heather Ashton's method. I also had a couple of set backs along the way. Right now I am at 14mg am and 14 mg pm. If you look at her taper schedule you will see where I am. You can find it at http://www.benzo.org.uk/manual/bzcha01.htm. It's the first taper schedule.
Does anyone out there know if I would be safe just cutting the dose in half or going c/t at this point. I have been warned against the dangers of it and told not to try. I am 42 yo and in very good health.
Any feedback would be appreciated.

I also went throgh the benzo withdrawals after a several year addiction. I went inpatient and was tapered down over a 5 day period, with a drug called Depokote which is used for the seizure control as well as meed stabilizer. I am happy to tell you that it worked I experienced  no complications other than some sleepless nights. But I would do it all again as it was truly worth it!
